Very delicious traditional food and extremely polite service by the owners! Try Iberian mix with cheese and hams, Tapas are very very delicious too, and they have even a special kids menu! I like this place!

We went here after our first choice was fully booked. The venue is quite modern but almost too loud for decent conversation. The menu isn't extensive and it's badly translated in parts so unless ordering something obvious like paella then you might be in for a surprise! Also, if you want paella the minimum order is for two people. It... More

We ordered the paella valenciana which was excellent! The chicken salad we ordered as an appetizer was very big and special. Great service and experience!

Excellent service, great food, good variety of Tapas. This place offers a new taste of local tapas with high quality level of ingredients and a unique way to celebrate it. If you think to know the taste of the best Spanish Tortilla. ...just try the Tortilla at the Cavalta27. The beef is outstanding as well. Just a place you will... More

We found this restaurant off the main larger roads and were immediately welcomed by the servers (polite servers who try to communicate in english are rare). Tapas are creative, well priced, and quick to arrive. Our server Luis was able to translate most of the menu for us in his enthusiastic English. Deconstructed tortilla was super cool as well. Paella... More

The 30% discount advertised is not on all the food but limited to some combinations of meals. The service is awful. The food is ok but too it costs too much. One of the mobile walls fell on my girlfriend. I would not go there again.

Most reviews here seem to be from foreigners. I'm a local and trust me, Madrid has way better places. This was bad. Service slow. Plates were dirty, about 30% overpriced compared to what you get elsewhere. The food though was like supermarket food, espcially sauces. Cazon chewy. Tortilla dry with hard potato. I've lived in Madrid since 2002 and this... More

My wife and I in came here for lunch after visiting the royal palace. After surveying the restaurant in the area we decided that Cavalta 27 looked the most authentic. Several tapas and beers later we found ourselves extremely satisfied and happy with our selection. Excellent service. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

I've been there twice now and both time the food has been amazing! They have a restaurant in the back part for actual meals and tapas and drinks are served through out. Definitely try a couple mini hamburguesa buey! They were delicious! Definitely going back.

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
