We went to this restaurant based on recommendations but were a little disappointed. The starter was good but the fried anchovies we had for main course were chewy.

Little rooms packed together soon fill up after 8pm and again a bar area for stool seating. The staff here are more classic set, polite and functional , the vast menu also available in English. We enjoyed anchovies with avocado and a tuna salad. A...More

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around trying to find a good place to eat. We got lucky. The service, food quality and presentation were first rate. Unlike other restaurants we had visited, the waiter told us when he thought we had ordered enough. The...More

I ordered a plate of "Andalusian fish" – deep fried fish, Andalusian style. It is true that it was a Monday, and I should have known better. But, still – it was terribly done, thousands of miles away from what you find in the most...More

First tapas meal in Madrid! It is on the pricey side but worth it. Not a lot of options but the place is ambient and good for conversations. Tapas were seasoned good except for some that were a little salty. Overall, the dining experience was...More

Nice decor with a busy deli wine bar out front doing great local business. Service was ok, but professional. English was limited, so not much scope for chat. We went with 4 tapas as starters between two. Very nice crab pâté, salted cod with avocado,...More

We had a fabulous lunch at this family-owned restaurant. Order tapas of whichever kind and you can't go wrong. Prices were reasonable, the staff, friendly.

Close to the Gran Via, in a very nice old house with atmosphere. Great food, experienced and helpful service. We enjoyed it very much to be here.

Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where
many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where
the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and
people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main
thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is
Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables
serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture
of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses

Bocaito was founded 45 years ago and we have a wide experience in our sector. It is a family business opened in 1966 in Madrid. In 2006, Francisco Bravo y Concha Ortega started running the restaurant. Our aim is to keep the perfect balance between tradition and modernity of the Castillian and Andalusian cuisines. A perfect place to taste Spanish dishes and tapas. Bocaíto is located in the heart of Madrid, a top dining destination for those that want to taste Spanish cuisine. A few minutes away from the Cibeles Fountain, our restaurant is situated in Calle Libertad, number 6, next to Gran Vía and Calle Alcala. In our bars and in our dinning rooms too, you can taste all kind of tapas, among which we highlight our special toasts, Iberian ham and loin, salt-dried meat from Astorga (Leon), croquettes, stuffed mussels. If you like spicy food you can not leave without trying our Luisito. In Bocaito, you will have the chance to taste Castillian cuisine dishes (such as lamb and beef), Andalusian delights (small fried fish from Malaga) and a selection of the most typical fishes from the north of Spain (hake). If, by the way, you like stews, you can ask our staff fot the daily's hot dish, very representative of the Spanish gastronomy. We do have a gourmet menu, the perfecto choice if you wasn't to share with friends and try a selection of tapas and our most popular dishes.
