We had a very good evening here enjoying a selection of classic Spanish dishes all of which were excellent. The service was lovely and helpful, the wine cheap. The tortilla came whole and fresh out of the pan, the pulpo was melt in the mouth, pimientos de Padron tasty and the Bellota ham was great.

we ate twice at this restaurant and it was good. best thing is to order seafood. once I had fries and steak and it's not the food to order in this restaurant. the fires were super greasy and the steak has a lot of fat to cut off, but the rest was tasty. Pulpo, calamaris and shrimps were perfect. the... More

I visited with friends el Puerto de Cabreira on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was modern and clean and really busy. They found a table for us without reservations and the service was excellent. The quality of the seafood was great. It was a great experience.

I was treated to a wonderful dinner here with a friend who is a local. We ordered the pulpo gallego (pictured above) and some delicately breaded and fried eggplant spears drizzled with honey. All of that was washed down with a white wine reminiscent of Portuguese vinho verde. We had excellent service, but my friend is a regular and jokes... More

This wonderful little place was right across from our Madrid apartment. We visited almost every day for a drink and some tapas (try the patas de calamar) and staff was efficient and friendly. No one spoke English but I muddled along in my poor Spanish and all was fine. There is an English menu, which helped! It obviously had regulars... More

3 hours to have lunch on a Sunday. Poorly managed. Unpleasant service. Expensive for what you get. If you like Spanish food better go to the other restaurant with the same name at 2nd of May Square.

Unfortunately the whole experience was not very pleasant. We were hungry and ordered our food- it was very small portions but no one from staff could have explain anything about the food or advice what to order. We ordered another dish- and what we got was awful almost raw meat without any sauce. Overall we spent €40 and left hungry... More

The owner of our apartment in Malasaña recommended this place for a treat and we even got a bottle of his favourite Ribero del Duero red, delicious but pricey at €22. The food was good, the place lively with mostly Spanish diners and we enjoyed it. The bill was €70 for two, padded by charges for bread and water we'd... More

This was a recommendation from our host. Well worth the visit. This is a busy, bustling restaurant with character. We had a table outside on a beautiful, mild spring night. The sole waitress was a delight. She was able to keep more than 10 tables happy without taking a single note, and she kept up the patter with customers who... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
