We visited on Tuesday 22nd. The restaurant was really nicely set up, lovely decor. No reservations meant a walk in was convenient even at 2100. The menu was attractive, starters mini octopus (really tasty) , salmon and melted brie overcooked. Mains of meatballs bland, no taste and lamb dish could have been better with veg not potatoes and the jus... More

They serve very pleasant food and the menu is a wide selection and offers different international food styles, dessert menu is definitely a must! Great food and friendly staff. Attention to the cute and delish Chula beer :-) Greetings for the Peruvian girl and wish her well

I've been at Finca de Susana 3 times for the fixed lunch menu. For only Eur 10,75 you can get a 3 course menu, drink and bread. It is a nice way to taste some local cuisine in an elegant environment. The only negative I can say is that the staff is always on the rush leading sometimes to an... More

La Finca de Susana is situated at a quiet street, just a few blocks from Madrid´s hot spot Puerta del Sol. The premises are nice, the prices very modest and the food good (but perhaps not top class). The starters we chose (bird paté respective carpaccio) were delicious and the main courses more simple, but quite OK. The suggested red... More

Two years ago we ate at this place with our son. This year, 2016 only the two us came to eat dinner. At first we thought we were mistaking and are in the wrong place. We asked if they have moved recently? Sure enough, the waitress said they had moved in September 2015. What a wonderful food they serve. For... More

This place looks great and was full on a Monday lunchtime so decided to give it a try. Wish we had not! The food is really very poor. My wife's food was barely edible and mine was so bland that I can not believe anyone purporting to be a chef was involved. Think of a cross between plane food and... More

The dinner was perfect from the perfect location at the heart of Madrid, to the friendly service and the succulent dishes. The decor is elegant, modern and cosy. I am a vegetarian and there were plenty of veggie options. My partner had the baccalau (cod with spinach) and he said it was delicious. I had the vegetable tempura and it... More

First of all there are no reservations so you have to turn up, put your name down, and come back approx 30-45 mins later. There was a great atmosphere, although we were there on a Saturday night - and it was clearly as popular with the locals as with tourists The food was good without being great, and the service... Listed in many travel guide books. It looks little bit fine dining. It is not fine dining, more bistro food. Strange feeling: it is cheap, menu looks fine, service is more than fast... Food is not so good , service is not attentive, decor is cheap. Check it, sometimes it is good sometimes bad. Strange!

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
