We ended our visit to Spain with a great meal at La Terrazza, an elegant restaurant located on the top floor of the "Casino de Madrid" (this is not an actual casino). We happen to dine on the same night as the Casino was hosting a wedding reception -so the evening was made more glamourous by the sight of many... More

We have benn traveling throughout Spain and Portugal and have eaten at several Michelin two star restaurants. This by far was the worst. Food was creative but tasteless, one of the courses was disgusting and there were tiny bones in my "rooster" entee. I almost cracked my tooth on it and when I politely mentioned it to the waiter, he... More

Was so looking forward to try one of the best restaurants in the city... Took the lunch 119€ worth menu. Everyone around us took the 89€ one. Only one table chose the traditional picking their own dishes. The start was great with a really unique mojito. Starters were nice and interesting but main courses were somehow disappointing. The soup was... More

Sweetie and I were very pleased with our overall experience. We chose the Grand Menu, and were wowed by the molecular approach taken. The wine pairings were also excellent, and service was excellent on all aspects. The only hiccup in the evening is the order of two dishes, the first meat dish and the last fish dish, which should be... More

When you walk into the Casino, you'll notice it's really more a private club; but you're in the right place. Shortly after you enter, there's a desk where someone can assist you with the elevator you'll need to take to reach the upper floor location of the restaurant. The entire place is white-themed and thus the ethereal description. The service... More

If you care mostly about service, plating and ambience, you'll be blown away by this exclusive dining experience. Sadly, though, the food left us significantly underwhelmed. Tableside liquid nitrogen preparations are fun. Once. But the concept was way overblown during our visit. And never was it executed very well. To be sure, the setting and service are amazing. I've never... More

I went there with my family to celebrate my graduation in July 2016 and it was definintely a special experience. We sat on the terrace which was amazing, very nice view, very close to the centre. There was also a soft jazz singer which added a nice feel to the ambiance. The food was very imaginative, nothing we had tasted... More

We had booked a table on the terrace and were greeted downstairs and taken up to the terrace in an old fashioned elevator where we were greeted again and taken to our table. It was a warm balmy night and with only about 15 tables outside there was a lovely intimate atmosphere whilst still having plenty of space around us.... More

This was food, and service, of the highest quality. We went for the whole menu,so had 25 tastes of different elements. There are too many highlights to mention - but the wit shone through in each course. More importantly, you want to leave the surprise for the next diner - no spoilers here! The service was immaculate - we had... More

For balmy Madrid evenings, the Casino offers an exceptional atmosphere surrounded by the most historical buildings on Calle Alcala.Since 1988, the rooftop restaurant, La Terraza del Casino, two Michelin Stars and three Repsol Suns, directed by Paco Roncero and advised by Ferran Adria, now rates among the most innovate players on Madrid gastronomic stage. Fine dining is one of the most surprising locations the Casino de Madrid has to offer.Discover Madrid skyline from amidst the historic buildings that surround the Casino: they provide the backdrop for your meal. Haute cuisine for clients in search of originality, creativity and the chance to enjoy a new culinary experience.Furthermore, in the refurbishment, Jaime Hayon has created a design conceived specifically to envelop dinners in the same groundbreaking, avant-garde feel that Paco Roncero achieves with the textures, colours and flavours of his dishes.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
