If you love Cuban culture and food as much as I do, this is a place you should not miss! Good Cuban food and live music most nights, as well as the occasional world-renowned musician. This is a lively place to go Salsa dancing in a great and very safe neighborhood in Madrid's historical center.

We went after 11.30pm so band was already playing, we had a great time, we danced some salsa and enjoyed the band and some drinks, good for the after dinner.

Couldn't even get in the door as the two gentlemen taking entrance fees refused to communicate with us and were unnecessarily rude. So disappointed as we were really looking forward to hearing some live music.

We popped in here for dinner as we wanted to catch some live music. However, whilst we arrived by 930, the band did not come on until 1130 so dinner became a long drawn out experience! 😄 The food was good - especially the ribs and croquettes - and the mojitos were good, but it was quite pricey. By the... More

Being a Caribbean girl, I went with someone from Greece to show him a little bit of "sazon". And the experience was great!! The food was delicious, varied and the show was very good!!

We stumbled into this place after dinner, and we were happy to enjoy great authentic Latin music live! People were all over the dance floor, and the vibe was festive! My main critique was booze was pricey! Mojitos were 8 euros each, ouch.

I was taken here after dinner for mojitos and dancing by my 23 year old daughter and her friends who live in Madrid. What a great evening! it was full of locals and South Americans who can certainly dance salsa and they were happy to dance with us (?!) Fantastic band, we left at 3.45am and the place was still... Went here with a recommendation from Cuban waiter at another restaurant. Food was very tasty. At 1130pm they have live music and dancing. It turned out to be a very lively place. We stayed until 115am! Was not expecting to have such a good time!

My friends and I were in Europe studying law for the summer and since we are from Puerto Rico we were craving latin food. This place was recommended to us by a lot of people back home so we were like "why not?". Food was great and the prices were affordable. The have great live music for dancing... I believe... More

Let's be honest, this is a bar for mojitos and the way they line them up they can obviously shift them. Lovely strong mojitos so stop in for one, or three as we did!

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
