I've been coming to this El Corte Inglés for about 40 years. I have seen it develop from strength to strength. Today we had a family meal in the cafeteri, newly refurbished, and was ace. Not cheap but not expensive. We made the journey especially.

Good place to shopping, but please avoid the cafeteria upstairs. Worst food ever. I ordered the new rabo de toro burger and, no kidding, I almost throw up. Same with the cheeseburger. French fries were like chew gum and waiting time was absurd.

This was our first stop in Madrid and since we were hungry we decided to give it a try. It was very much like the traditional home made food. We had steak n fries, fried calamaris(rabas) and a club sandwich with salad. We also had 3...More

El Corte Ingles was typical high quality department store but with a nice and specific and separate food area I only took some light bites and enjoy a glass of local beer that is truly suitable for my taste.

It's a good store, with nice book and DVD section. You can find very expensive cloth but also some cheap stuff. Sometimes you can find some different items that are not easy to find back home. They have a coffee shop in the store, which...More
