With cloth napkins and an intimate setting, we found ourselves delighted by the atmosphere, service and food. We had a fabulous meal with dessert, drinks and coffee for under 60 euros, and left feeling as though we had discovered a true treasure. From the friendly greeting to the warm good bye, our night was perfect. The flavors of our meals... More

We picked a typically Spanish restaurant for our evening meal, close to the hotel and were the first to arrive as it opened. The waiter did forget our wine, but everything else went like clockwork. The food was good but my wife's was a little salty which seemed to come as a surprise. Do go and try this place, we... More

Perfect lunch, side street, small, great service, excellent menu choice....as always in Madrid a lot of fish options. Fantastic wine and fair price. Also a set menu if required. Couldnt be more spanish and non touristy.

Very good traditional Spanish food with a touch of Asian flavours. First class food. Nice atmosphere. Only once thing to improve: the "maitre" a bit pedantic.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
