Off the main road in a mews-like place we had wonderful lunch dishes, especially the croquettes with a special filling, a plate of mixed vegetables, a plate of fried eggs topped by thinly sliced Iberico ham with chips, goog rioja wine, tasty olives, fresh baguette, and a pleasant talk with the who explained the retaurant',s name. It might sound simplest... More

Its a nice place for a drink and some tapas I would not recommend it for a full lunch or dinner. I enjoy the croquetas, jamon bellota, queso manchego and some other tapas.

A small restaurant snuggling amongst designer shops in Central Madrid. Classic Spanish tapas was served alongside the best croquettes we ate in Madrid. The crusty exterior gave way to the lightest cheese sauce with cubes of intensely flavoured ham. The mixed grill did not disappoint either.

I ate here on a Monday night in the middle of winter, there was hardly anyone else. This place is probably better to visit once it is warm enough to sit outside and with company, a bit lonely on your own. Food was ok but the chipirones I had the day before elsewhere in Madrid were way better. I think... More

This is a small restaurant in a passage off Jorge Juan street. It's part of a chain which owns five restaurants under the same name in Madrid and Barcelona. I've tried the one in Rambla Catalunya in Barcelona, which was quite good, but the Jorge Juan restaurant was a better experience for some reason. The jamón ibérico was of superior... More

We had a great Sunday lunch in this centric and quiet restaurant in the neighborhood of Salamanca. Great food with ham and iberic pork meat shining over the rest. Dessert were also excellent, specially "torrijas" which were out of this world.... Not big portions but reasonable value for money. Very good service.

Make sure to have lunch at this quiet yet trendy and elegant restaurant in the center of Madrid. Known for its cuts of ham and charcuterie, you will not be disappointed by the other delicious dishes on offer, like the ham croquettes or the Salade Russe. The staff was friendly and discrete, the decor and seating comfortable.

Perfectly located in Salamanca, in the beginning of a "restaurant" street. Great food and friendly service. Reasonable value for money. Was especially nice to sit outdoors in a sunny day

In Spain you better like Croquetas because they are everywhere but this restaurant mastered the art of Croquetas. They are soft in the middle and explode in your mouth, simply delicious. Obviously the Jamon is excellent and the Lomo with the PX sauce is worth trying, highly recommended. Avr Price: €30/head

It would be quite easy to walk by and miss this little gem. Fabulous service, quality wine and quality food. Ideal off site dining particularly if visiting Real Madrid or staying at the NH Eurobuildings hotel. Sample half portions of the starters they are simply delicious. A restaurant I will definitely return to.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
