This place is really good for local spanish food, I've tried quisito de chipis. The food is home cooked and delicious. This place is more suitable for couples or small company. Really nice place to visit!

Lovely atmosphere - small and cozy, was just like eating in someone's home. This restaurant only allows 20 covers, this certainly makes it feel like a special and intimate experience. We arrived for a 9.30 pm booking and rang the bell (the door hadn't been opened yet) immediately we were greeted by the owner (one of two sisters) She was... More

Authentic little place for great food which is run by two sisters. Service was personal and attentive. The food was exceptional.

We ate here on our last night in Madrid after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor - our hosts were welcoming and friendly & happy to talk through the dishes on the menu. Loved the guisito de chipis - house white was not as good as would have liked hence the four stars but otherwise would recommend for couples or... More

My husband and I read of this restaurant on TripAdvisor, and we had a great experience. Quaint and wonderful ambience, excellent food, and absolutely charming hostesses! This dinner was a highlight of our time in Madrid. We highly recommend it.

I had read the other reviews on Tripadvisor and was looking for something different for an evening meal in Madrid with my wife, brother and sister-in-law. I was not disappointed! I was staying nearby at the Hotel Opera (see my seperate review) but having been to Madrid several times previously and experienced both good and bad, cheap and overpriced, meals... More

Not so many dishes, but all intrested. Good winelist . We had a Protos reserva-1999 34Euro! They don´t know so much about wine, but we do and because the good winelist it was easy to choise!

As born in Rioja, we always recommend the house, but we have, as it says, many other options. Thank you very much for your review. More

My husband and I ate here in September, 2016. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find, even for the taxi driver, but with the GPS they found it. The charm of this restaurant is derived from the two sisters who run it. Isabel takes your orders and makes suggestions, and Pilar is the cook. Isabel also likes to talk... More

On our first night in Madrid, we were searching for a late night intimate romantic spot close to the centre of town. Although it was on a quite street and not easy to find, we were delighted to meet Isabel and Pilar, the 2 sisters that have run this incredible little restaurant that had the romantic atmosphere we were seeking.... Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
