Amazing pizza and value for money

A friendly relaxed atmosphere with nice staff great food and really good value for money. My parents live in Calpe so we frequently visit this restaurant. Last time we went it was late (around midnight) and we were a bit peckish so we shared 2 pizzas and all had a beer. We could not believe that it only came to €20 and was so delicious. Best pizza in town!

Change of ownership, some things changed

Apparent change of ownership has changed a few things here. First, a previously signature dish of them is no longer there, the scallopine a limone (which used to be one of the best ones I knew). The pizzas are still good, but became a little more cheesier, the crust still the same and good. Also, the little train that used to run around the ceiling of the restaurant is no longer running (not a major thing, but maybe sign of the times?). Pricing still very good by the way.

Great pizza, very busy and a little slow service.

Great pizza at a low price with Ok service, probably the best pizza we have had in a while. Same it was just OK service, quite slow and feels like they need more staff. However, pizza was awesome, but don’t bother with pasta and risotto as they are average, for 4 pizzas, bottle of wine and 2 soft drinks and a bill less than €70 you can’t complain!

Long wait for a poor pizza

I am a Calpe resident and have been to Rusticana many times. Five of us booked a table for 1900 hours. We ordered drinks and entrees, which arrived in about 20 minutes. By 20.50 our main course of 4 pizzas had not been served, despite enquiring with the most unfriendly and unhelpful waiters. Our pizzas arrived at 21.05. Mine was a marina, poorly cooked and very tough and tastless. The others in our party had similar experiences. The manager came to apologise, but by then it was too late. My friends and I will not be returning.

There are better pizza restaurants!

Possible the worst meal! It started badly my husband’s aperol spritz was neat aperol and my gin was strawberry flavoured and not mentioned before! For starters my husband had a prawn cocktail and it was tasteless. I had prawns in garlic - the prawns were floating in flavourless oil and it was hot and very unpleasant. Mains my husband had the spicy calzone and it was only guindillo chillis and cheese. Not good. I had an americano. This was tasteless and I struggled to cut the base. Worst of all was the dried herbs scattered over the pizza - ver unpleasant. This was an experience we will not be repeating.

Worst service in a Restaurant I've ever had!!!

Where do I start, we got married in Caple 9 years ago and returned today for a visit. 9 years ago we ate numerous times at La Rusticana and its was very nice so we decided to return today. We sat down and had to wait a while to order, the staff seemed disinterested. We eventually ordered starters and main courses. After a 1 hour wait and numerous times asking we still had no food, then the girl waitress came over with 2 pizzas and said Pizza? As she obviously had no clue what we had ordered. At that stage we just had to leave so asked for the drinks bill, which surprise surprise that didnt bring either,so we left a 10er on the table and just walked out. They didn't give a damn.

The wine was cheap but thats about the only good thing I would say. There are a huge amount of eating places in Calpe with many serving similar food to this one. Prawn cocktail and minestrone soup to start, the soup was very poor. Spaghetti lille and spaghetti carbonara for our mains. 4 out of ten at most, would not hurry back.

Disappointed

Having eaten here many times over the years on the occasion disappointed is the only way to describe our overall experience. The service was lacklustre even though there were many staff staring into the distance. The garlic bread was delicious! The pastas we both chose were tasteless and we had to ask for pepper and cheese as weren’t offered , I’m all for relaxed service , but this was borderline lazy as restaurant wasn’t busy, Pizzas looked fabulous, Used to be best lasagne in town , wouldn’t even try it now! Lots of plates going back with food on otherwise, wonder what Gordon Ramsay would say, Shame as once was the best, Great for pizza but for pasta others are better.

They recommended this restaurant to us, we wanted to have dinner, but it was impossible for any waiter to pay attention to us, I understand the month and the amount of work they will have in season, and they apologized to the waiters, to the owner! Something is wrong with you given the anger of your employees or you pay them little or you kill them to work, finally we left there to have dinner somewhere else! Regrettable situation of not being able to start a conversation with anyone, so it's better to close and everyone is happy, right? Lord owner of this

Great pizza

Rusticana makes great pizzas to sit in or take away. We've done both. The pizzas are excellent. Good bases and a wide range of toppings with lots of flexibility. I've not personally had the pasta here because I like the pizzas so much, but a friend had the cannelloni on our first visit and said it was so good that we had to return before she and her husband went home just so she could eat it again.

Best Italians in Calp with best value ratio! Finally normal portions with normal taste. Thumbs up! Keep it up! Menu 3 courses with drink 13,5 euro pizzas around 10 euro

I'm 57 years old and this is honestly the worst meal I have ever eaten. We were the only table in and every dish came out separately. Absolutely every one of the ten dishes were terrible. My dish came out 3 times before it was right! I had what was supposed to be a veal escalope honestly I could have resoled my shoe with it. We were offered nothing in the way of apology. If you're looking to spend your hard earned cash in Calpe do yourself a favour and spend it elsewhere.

The worst pizza ever.

We arrived at our pre-booked table at 7pm. Ordered a round of drinks and ten minutes later oredered our food. First course artrved after about 15mins. Fine. So we waited for our main course, pizza. Time passed people came in and ordered after us and were served, but still no show on ours. We questioned where ours was several times. "Five minutes" was the constant reply. To cut a long story short ours arrived at 9.05pm. Undercooked, utterly dreadful with a leathery base and bland topping. Fove very dissatisfied, local, customers who will not return. Be warned. Avoid.

Having enjoyed this restaurant many times in the past but won't be back again. No atmosphere, the pasta was overcooked and soggy, same as the pizza. No cheese or pepper offered. Shame the little train running round the ceiling as gone.

Fabulous experience

This restaurant is warm and inviting, with delicious food. The staff are really nice and the service is first class. We had Holger waiting on our table and he was an absolute gem. Our group was pretty big and that sometimes poses an issue, but everything was on point. The pizza was excellent ( I had the mushroom, but the other family members had different ones and they were all good). We also had several pasta dishes and a variety of starters. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Calpe looking for a great meal.
