Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In this place you can find traditional recipes and an local atmosphere. We ordered a paella valenciana and it was very delicious! If something its good and quality you can recognize immediately !

We were both so looking forward to our visit to this restaurant. On the plus side we screwed up our dates and we’re a day early but they kindly accommodated us. On the minus side the food was average at best. The Valencian paella was...dry, not very hot, and the chicken and rabbit were even dryer. Very disappointed. The calamari was served luke warm to cold. Being American, maybe we don’t know how it should be served but for sure having dried out meat is not a good sign. Try somewhere else.More

We were looking to try authentic paella and were very impressed with this restaurant. The paella was delicious and definitely authentic. The restaurant is small but cozy and has 2 floors. When they opened at 2pm there was already a line as the restaurant is...very popular, however they got everyone seated quickly and we had good service.More

An absolutely wonderful family owned restaurant in Valencia with a wonderfully welcoming owner (Carlos is the best), great vibe, and delicious paella Valenciana. What else can you want? We come here every year, and La Riuá doesn't disappoint. If you want an authentic Valencian experience,...this is the place. If you're looking for a tourist trap with mediocre paella, look elsewhere. We can't wait to visit again next year! Thanks again, Carlos, for the warm welcome ... we will be back.More

Came here on recommendation from friends however I was a little disappointed. The service was on - not as friendly as hoped. The paella Valencia was dry and a little too salty. Overall ok but disappointing. Had better paella and better service.

It started with us walking in for a table at 245pm.. We were told it was completely full for the rest of the service and sent away. I had such high hopes that I went online hoping to score a reservation for another day and...found openings for 3 and 330 pm that same day. Got ourselves back in with a reservation at 250 pm. Another patron comes in without reservation and she was offered a table.. interesting and annoying, given that we were sent away just 5 minutes ago. We ordered the peppers stuffed with baby eels- it was delicious. The server was friendly. We ordered the paella valenciana and it was not mind blowing. The chicken and rabbit were dry and it was too salty. I'd skip and try another place.More

Came here on the recommendation of several tourist guides and the clerk at the hotel, but have to say that while it was good, it wasn't as great as we had anticipated. The seafood paella came with 6 shrimp and few mussels. The rice was...tasty, but there was little else. There was a lineup here when the place opened, so if you want to come, get in line before 2pm.More

My wife and I visited Valencia the last Fallas, we watched the mascletá and then we wanted to have some of the traditional Valencian dishes, so we decided to visit this restaurant nearby downtown. We'd booked in advance, because there were all crowded because of...the Fallas. As soon as you arrive, you realize the place is decorated as a "barraca" (a traditional country house in Valencia), the walls are plenty of pictures and decorated plates. The staff was really kind, especially Carlos, the manager who was friendly and helpful, and Paco, our waiter who gave us good advices about the meal and the wine. We had 'esgarraet' (pepper and onion), and squid as starters, and backed rice as a main course, a bottle of Matarromera (red wine). We didn't have dessert and at the end we tried the "cremaet" a special Valencian coffee. Everything was tasty and delicious, the bill was reasonable. We will come back, no doubts.More

While the restaurant is not vibe-y at all, it delivers on its core mission! We had the best paella ever. The rice was perfectly creamy, with deliciously crunchy parts stuck to the pan. The rabbit, the main meat in the paella was deliciously tender, and...the entire pan was redolent of saffron. We ate here over a year ago, but the memory of the meal stays with me!More

I have been visiting this fine restaurant for the last 15 years in the centre of Valencia. The service and food is always excellent. The speciality of the house is the Paella Valenciana which I highly recommend. It is a family business which has been...running for many years, Francisco and Pilar are fine hosts. I tend to visit with my Valencian friends so it also has a local stamp of approval too.More

Since a lot of places are closed for the Holiday this was not our first pick. Ordered vegetable and seafood Paella. Very disappointed. Vegetable Paella was basically tasteless and came out luke warm. Restaurant was hot inside (I know they’re mandated to keep AC at...27 but how about investing in some fans). Expensive for mediocre food.More

Couldn’t fault this restaurant’s classic paella offering, which was up there with the best I’ve had…so far. But the experience nearly got derailed because the waiters didn’t look one bit bothered about playing their part in ‘our’ experience. The interior of the restaurant has a...definite vintage charm about it...so double shame that its service failed to rise to the occasion.More
