Osteria del Taglio is situated on a small side street. It is in a basement so it's easy to pass by this lovely restaurant. It appears to be newly renovated and very cheerful. They have a very nice menu, including a three course chef's menu, which we chose. They have an open kitchen which I like since you can see... More

We ate here in August when visiting Salerno. We were looking around for somewhere to eat and using Trip Advisor ratings to help us choose. The reviews for this one made reference to not being able to buy wine by the glass so this put us off as usually my husband drinks red wine and I drink white and not... More

If you are visiting Salerno you must not miss this restaurant. Located in a little Alley right the heart of the city, it will amaze you with its modern interpretation of traditional dishes using mainly local products sourced at small farmers. The service is friendly and unpretentious and the wine list is adequate to all your needs.

All I can say is go to this restaurant if you like fine food and you are in Salerno . The courgette and shrimp soup was to die for, the seared tuna sublime and all the deserts we had were fab. A few minor seasoning issues with some of the other plates but did not detract from the quality of... More

Good sea food restaurant. No soft drinks served. Friendly staff. Food well presented. Quite pricey. The artisan beer is sold in 75cl bottles and is expensive at 18 Euros per bottle. Great ambiance and service.

After wandering around the streets, the restaurant that Trip Advisor posted as now open, is indeed closed on Monday. How fortunate for us because instead we wound up having our dinner at this wonderful Osteria. Bright and contemporary which was great as it's downstairs location might have suggested otherwise. The waiter graciously seated us and then brought us each a... More

We arrived quite late at the restaurant on our first night in Salerno without booking. The menu is small but creative. The bread served before the meal tasted great! We had a tasty pasta and cod fish as mains, and ended with a semifreddo for dessert. We took the staff’s recommendation of a nice wine which complemented with our dishes... More

Salerno is beautiful city with its own strong culinary tradition, in every house, every day of the week you can have a great meal. Unfortunately the local restaurant scene is totally disappointing, except for pizza parlours and other basic street food places. The recently opened Osteria del Taglio is a game-chager. It has a 1 star Michelin star chef on... More

We went here as all the other restaurants in Salerno did mainly fish, had a wonderful 2 course meal for two with wine for 55 euro, which included a 7 euro tip. Great food served by waiters with limited englishnlanguage skills, but who went out of their way to make our evening very enjoyable.

This is a modern but still very charming Italian restaurant in the old town. We had a delicious meal and they made a great glutenfree pasta for me. The food was creative, not too big portions nd delicious. Our 4 year old absolutely wanted milk, they did not have any but the owner called a friend to bring some just... More
