Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not exceptional, but absolutely solid. Standout for us was the fresh squeezed juice for €5. Just across from the entrance where we were to meet our guides for Pompei. Made the wait pleasant and relaxing. Staff was great. Didn’t make us feel rushed at all.

I had a very good carbonara from here after visiting Pompeii. Friendly service with nice food so a good stop after you come out of the marina side of it.

Best pizza , salads , fries and fresh juices I had in Italy. Will highly recommend this spot . Throughout my trip this was the most fun and delicious stopover. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Service was fantastic. Such a colorful decor pure Italian ambiance. Every...thing was made fresh in front open kitchens.More

We headed here after visiting the ruins, as we were starving! It looks nice from the outside so ventured in. We only ordered toasties and fries for a quick bite and they were fine. The frozen strawberry drinks were nice and refreshing after a hot...walk. The service was nothing special, no politeness from the servers, they were very rushed.More

Literally the worst food I've ever had while traveling. We stopped in here after a long (and wonderful) tour of Pompeii because we were starving. I would have rather eaten stale crackers found in the garbage. The prosciutto smelled of rotten socks, the melon was...unripe, and the mozzarella looked like it had been soaked in dirty water since the beginning of time and tasted rotten. The tomatoes looked okay but had a strange after taste to it. I stupidly ordered a margarita (I know - this one was my fault!) and it tasted of gasoline. I normally wouldn't leave such a negative review if the staff or the service had at least been a bit pleasant but the servers were not friendly, didn't make eye contact, and just threw the food at you in a rush to get you out of there. I wish they had just ignored us completely so we wouldn't have eaten there at all. Spare yourself a stomachache and buy a Snickers outside the stand to hold you over until you get back to your destination.More

I picked this restaurant via a gluten free App as the restaurant was on the way to the train station. Seemed OK initially. The waiter informed me they had gluten free options. I ordered a pasta carbonara and just ate the pasta as I was...so hungry. I think you get used to a really high standard of food in Italy and this really didn't match up. The sauce was weirdly lumpy and tasted nothing like a carbonara. I went to pay, that was fun! Went to the counter and asked to pay for our table. I had preggo shouted at me a few times by two very angry workers and something else random in Italian. I queued in another area to pay and was brought the bill by the waiter - €30 for a pasta carbonara, an aperol spritz and a peroni plus another €3 for a service charge. The staff continously shouted "cash" at everyone paying but then used the card machines when people had none. No thank you, goodbye or eye contact. Rude, rude, rude.More

The lasagne I ordered was miserable. First, the ration was a flat pile of pasta, not too much any filling anywhere. Then, it was cold in the middle. Not cool, but cold. Instead of getting a new decent portion, they just microwaved my ration to...be scalding hot. Horrible attitude towards customers. And they charge more than restaurants in downtown Rome.More

Massive inside so plenty of tables, unfortunately a bit of a monopoly straight off the train outside the gates to Pompei so this is just what it looks like really a tourist trap… we were in a hurry so went with it. Food was okay,...nothing special but not bad. Number of tour groups brought through by guides so volume is the focus. Food came in minutes and not together, our second main came out some five minutes after the first. It was expensive compared to some great restaurants in the city centre - for example 18 euro for a chicken salad. We also ordered a beer and were given and charged for the largest most expensive bottles- be sure to specify you just want a regular beer. Every other table got free bread, we did not. Automatic service charge on bill - first time i’ve seen that on this trip - but not really much service. Typical miserable ambivalence which is pervasive in this part of italy. If you’ve got time- venture a bit further!More

We ate in the Hortus Pompei. We came here after doing the Pompei tour across the road. The food was excellent. We got the hotdog and chips, burger and chips, and a gluten free burger and chips. All the food was very very tasty. We...also had 1 Fanta, 1 large beet, and 1 glass of Pinot Grigio. The waiter who served us was also very nice and helpful.More

Service was fast and the waiters were quite okay. The food was a disaster. We had gotten used to Italy’s amazing cuisine and only ate there because we had not eaten all day (because of unforseen circumstances). I didn’t even eat half of the pizza...I ordered, regardless of being hungry and left the restaurant still hungry. My partner had a burger, which was okay. When we went to the counter to pay. The lady was in an argument with a waiter and was yelling at him and being unfriendly to us and being annoyed towards us, even though we didn’t do anything. No hello, no thank you, no goodbye. After this brief encounter we decided to use the toilets before leaving. One of the waitresses came out of the bathroom. I realised quite quickly that she only went in there to smoke, making breathing really hard and leaving me with the taste of old tobacco in my mouth.More

Absolutely horrible staff who do not care. If they don’t like tourists, don’t work here! Slammed food down, barely spoke or looked at us, girls next to us waited the whole time we were there to have their plates cleared. Not worth the money.

Great restaurant right opposite the Pompeii entrance. Toilets available and a good place to stop for a meal. The restaurant is spacious and there are water fans for those hot summer days.

We arrived early for a Pompei tour and ducked in here to get out of the sun more than anything! Food was good for what could be a touristy place, but the atmosphere was really good with lots of big fans and misters to keep...everyone cool whilst being surrounded by lemon plants under a canopy. We had the fresh mozzarella which was just as good as anywhere else along the Amalfi, as well as a couple of their vast selection of ice cold drinks! We also went back for more after our tour, as it’s the first place you see when you come out of the Porta Marina Superiore entrance - it’s hard to miss with all the lemons! Service is great until you need to pay where it got a bit confusing - but you just need to ask for the receipt and go to the counter if you’re paying by card! Prices were ok, more expensive than what we were used to in Napoli but given that it’s directly outside an entrance to Pompei it could have been much worse. Not a bad place to cool down and kill some time before entering the ruins!More

We didn't have a reservation, but it does get crowded depending on the tourist bus schedules and time of day.
