We had lunch in this restaurant, fish with mushrooms and mixed salad. Excellent however a bit pricey. Very fresh, quick service, friendly personnel, fresh ac in the heat of Rome. Good for someone willing to have something different than pizza or pasta. Not for tourists, more geared towards lawyers and business people working in the area.

Fantastic Fish restaurant frequented by local business people. Great food and service considering they did not speak English, or ver little.

Literally across the street from the Visconti Palace Hotel (our choice on several visits to Rome), L'Antico Porto is great. We have eaten at many restaurants in Rome, but the location, quality of food and service, and reasonable prices make this a recurring pick. The spaghetti with fresh anchovies and pecorino is especially good. This time we even took a... More

This place was great. We had the steamed seafood as an appetizer, which came in a delicious lemon and olive oil sauce. Husband had ravioli stuffed with ricotta and salmon, and I had the steak with a salad. Both were delicious! Cannot recommend this place highly enough- we were tired from a day of Ancient Rome sightseeing and were just... More

Italian restaurant across from our hotel..(Visconti Palace) close by as we didn't want to venture too far out last night in Rome..we ordered the anchovy pasta which was really tasty with fresh anchovies..yummy!! If you like anchovies as we do..very quick on the up take of your plates but no biggy really...wine was good and affogato was a decent serve.

As It was late we dropped into this restaurant as it was just across the road from our hotel. Very quite for an Italian restaurant so very little atmosphere. The food and service were excellent and the staff very helpful . Usual prices for Rome but still enjoyable even so

We had a delightful meal here on our last night in Rome. The waiter, Daniel, brought two whole fish to our table for us to choose with choice of sauces. We ordered spinach and green beans on the side. Large portions, delicious artichoke sauce on the fish. All very fresh. With wine around 90 Euros. You get what you pay... More

We ate here on a Monday quite early in the evening, the service was very good and there were a number of obvious 'regulars' around us. We shared the mixed fish starter between us and the fish including the octopus and squid was beautifully tender. The first plate of pasta with seabasd and fennel was very tasty and the mains... Wow in a word. Fish and fish on the menu, and not a lot else. Superb options, and stellar cooking. Made for a great New Year’s Eve dinner. Not the cheapest, but you don`t really want cheap fish do you! Turbot was stand-out. Some of the deserts were from the 70`s, so be warned. Super little place,

We were told the fish was good and indeed it was, fresh and well cooked. The pasta dishes were ok, but could have been a little les "touristy" in other words the recipe is good but not followed to perfection. What suprised us was the service - the owner ? - we felt he did not care less about what... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
