I know the area very well and when I booked I thought "mmmmm, too touristic sector of Rome ( plenty of Hotels in the nearby Via Nazionale), which usually means not the best Food". I am happy to say I was wrong and that I discovered a nice Restaurant with a nice atmosphere and lovely Food. We had the crunchy... More

We entered here on a whim at 21:30, and got a table. We picked the starter tasting menu (30 EUR), and then two pasta dishes (~15 EUR a plate). The tasting menu is an unending triumph of all the ways to serve seafood: among others, a lightly seared scallop, a shrimp covered in sesame seed and then deep fried, raw... More

Try the starters degustation - really worth of the money. You will not need anything else to eat, it's a lot of food in fantastic quality, design and taste. Perhaps the desert will cover the gap - tiramisu was axcelent, with funny serving, big portion (we have shared in 2 pers). Recommended place!

Matermatuta was open for both lunch and dinner on Christmas Day, and they squeezed the two of us in for an early dinner (7:30) on a same day reservation. Everything from start to finish was perfect, this will certainly be one of the dining experiences my wife and I will still be talking about years from now. My crudo starter... More

Recommended by a friend who lives in Rome, this was just a fabulous choice. It was my wife's sister-in-law's 60th birthday so we were looking for somewhere memorable. To say the least she is a little picky and for someone who was not hungry when she entered the restaurant she devoured the oxtail ravioli and declared the fillet steak with... More

Although the basic ingredients of our meal could be found on many a menu, rarely would you find so much adventurous mixtures of taste cooked with such elan in one restaurant. After starters of three separate fish carpaccio and a monkfish ragu, we had black gnocchi with truffle, mussels and fried rocket, and black shrimp and mussel ravioli; followed by... More

Traveling with friends this restaurant was a fan favorite on Yelp. We got a reservation for Thursday evening, the restaurant was full which is always a good sign. This was an absolute delight!! We loved our meal, the presentation of all dishes was beautiful, service was on point and decor was stylish modern. Also surprisingly affordable, we live in California... More

This restaurant is next door to the Rome Times hotel. You must have reservations for what is really great food and service. You will pay a little more but it is worth the price.

Early lunch by Roman standards (1pm) - very stylish decor, modern, tasteful. Menu not too large - I was tempted by the Crudo or raw menu (mainly oysters or various types of fish) but decided on roasted octopus with pea veloute. Andy had battered salt cod with celeriac purée with fresh black truffle. Beautifully presented (mine on black slate) and... More
