The Cantina Tartaruga has sadly closed down and so one of the few places where it was possible to eat excellent food at a decent price in the centre of Rome is gone. It has reopened under new management, a new chef and a new...More

I'm a Rome Resident and I was looking for a place to bring a small group of clients to taste a few wines and learn about pairing with some appetizers. Lots of places nearby were pretty uncooperative, not interested, and rather rude but La Tartaruga...More

My boyfriend and I live nearby La Tartaruga and we took my parents there for dinner when they visited Rome. We liked it so much we went back the next night too! The food is really first-rate - creative flavor combinations, feather-light fresh pasta, perfectly...More

Not sure why this was so high rated. The food was very good, service was average, ambience...pretty nice. But...............,not impressed, especially with the price/value/portions. Might recommend it for a couple, but not a family (3 teens, 3 adults). We expected more.

Excellent food and wine combination! A Roman friend of mine recommend it and Inadored it. Siriano and his brother really know how to look after you, from the incredibly distinctive dishes full of flavour, to the carefully hand picked wines. The surprisingly light 'Ricotta infornata'...More

In the Via del Monte della Farina (parallel to Via Arenula, running from the rear of Sant'Andrea della Valle to the Via dei Giubbonari), this small but elegant place is not on any tourist path. But it's worth looking for. We first found it 10...More

While many recommanded restaurants were booked, we just discovered by chance this restaurant which was half empty. But the menu seemed interesting and we got in. It was an interesting discovery. The meal was very nice and inventive (risotto and lobster, tasty ravioli with riccotta...More

Although a small restaurant this a lovely place to eat. We took our 11 year old along and she was thrilled with her prawns (as were we with our calamari and fish respectively). Beautifully cooked.

With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a
five-minute walk of each other, the
Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and
most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful
throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art
galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood
museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the
streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa

The Tartaruga Cantina is the starting point of a walk of life constantly engaged into an evolutionary process: in the course of time our cuisine has undergone renovation, endlessly in quest of harmony and recognition of every single ingredient belonging to its traditional roots. Therefore, on the basis of this concept, the menu is free from all outdated patterns and cliches: the classical menu division gives place to a destructured theme presenting a list of courses in order to personally choose your own ideal food tasting path. The hand-preparation of each single course is the key element which motivates us to delve into this project. We like to consider our - hopefully yours too - restaurant as a food tasting workshop.
