The food was great! We were welcomed with a complimentary prosecco. Although the tables are close to each other this allowed us to meet and have a great conversation with the couple beside us. Great eats in the old city.

We ordered "cacio e pepe" pasta, you can barely feel the taste of cheese, I felt i was eating pasta in bianco. It was disappointing!

Average food, seafood pasta not good, charging bread without even asking if we want any is definitely not right. Just a warning, when paying by credit card make sure the amount is right, our bill showed a lower amount (not sure if they made a mistake or tried to rip us off).

Welcomed with a complimentary glass of prosecco, varied menu and good wine list. Attentive service. Would be advisable to book during busy times.

This was the first restaurant we went to in Rome and we didn't find better the whole stay! Affordable prices, amazing food, great service, complementary prosecco and just a lovely little restaurant! Would highly recommend

We were extremely hungry after a full day of sightseeing. We saw the relatively high ratings and stopped here. Elettra lives up to its 4+ rating. We almost missed out as the restaurant was full outside and almost full inside. The restaurant was nice enough to squeeze in our party of 10. They welcomed us with a free Prosecco. The... More

I decided to try Elettra given its close proximity to my hotel and the seemingly good value for a prix fixe lunch (starter, glass of wine, special, and choice of fruit cup or coffee) prior to going to the Vatican. Along Amadeo near Terminus station, I sat outdoors to enjoy the sunshine. I was offered bread and breadsticks prior to... More

If you love Italian food, Rome is the place to be. Many, many good options however we came to this gem three nights. Complimentary prosecco while we waited for a table. Dined like kings! My son had the pizza all three nights and can personally attest best we had in all Italy. Chef is the owner and would highly recommend... More

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant, since my mum was vegetarian - but we failed miserably. Finally we ended at the restaurant just under our hotel and it was really very good, highly recommended for vegetarians, carnivore, fish eaters, and veggie lovers. Friendly and competent service, good food, and good value for money, a real rarity so near Termini... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
