We were at the Vatican on a very windy and cold day and happened upon this place mostly because we were desperate to get out of the cold. Firstly, it took them about 5 minutes to seat us then bring us the menus. When they finally arrived to take our order, the waiter was quite curt and dismissive. The restaurant... More

We ordered 3 sandwiches, 1 spaghetti bolognese, 2 beers and 2 waters. When we got the bill they had added several additional items: Double service (tips when tips was already included), as well as money for bread and meatballs which was never ordered for at total price of almost 100 EUR. I would call this blatant robbery. An incredibly bad... More

Avoid this place!!!!! The food is middling and the worst: they create a lot of fees to stole you! Service (15%) never seen in any place in Europe (they say it because its a touristic place ???) and 10 Euros of (obligatory) tips! This place should be closed! We did not pay these extras fees because we had a really... More

Worst place i've ever been in the whole Italy. I was on my way with my friends to a pretty good looking restaurant when this lady approached me and offered me a strange menu for 9€. As we got to the restaurant to check it out, this other guy, probably the owner changed the menu into a different thing and... More

The Food was great. Me and my husband Are very picky and I had sea food spaghetti and my husband had a veal stew with peas. I feel awkward giving 5 stars to something rated so low. Once we sat down and got connected to wifi , read reviews about the place we just ordered I was desperate and ready... More

La Romanella or "Sunrise" on your credit card billing is a rip-off restaurant, which is a shame because it actually has some pretty decent dishes. The restaurant is on a Vatican neighborhood street and the owner is active in hustling business off the street and his persuasion caused my wife to decide on dinner. In fairness, the menu does clearly... More

Stopped to get a coffee and use their wifi. Won't provide you with wifi password until food arrives. Worst attitudes/customer service ever!!! Papafrancesco wifi password. You're welcome.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
