We dropped by for dinner based on a friends recommendation. We had made a reservation so got seated in the back area rather than the front. The service was friendly and food good. We shared the calamari (highly recommend) and shrimp fetucinni. Both were great. We finished off with the strawberry🍓gelato (home made) Would definitely👌recommend this place.

I thought this was a good choice but not extraordinary. Admittedly, I had a fairly basic branzino dish so my review might not be 100% fair. . It was certainly good, but hard to get too excited. I would definitely go back though as it was a nice, causal family run place.

Recommended by our hotel, this local restaurant is exactly where to go for authentic Italian food, hospitality and ambience, at good prices. We are having trouble adjusting to the first and second plate routine, usually being full by the time the second plate arrives. Our delicious fettucine and seafood salad made it almost impossible to finish our salmon and prawns,... More

Our hotel recommended this Italian restaurant and we really enjoyed it. We ordered various seafood and pastas and everyone at the table said their fish was fresh and overall their meal was very good. The price was good and menu had a lot of options. We had an early dinner so the restaurant was not crowded and the service was... More

Dined here recently. Everything was fine without being great. Often average food is compensated by a really nice atmosphere and friendly staff unfortunately that wasn't our experience. I would expect a better experience for the price paid.

We had great mussels in red sauce, salad, pasta carbonara, and lamb. Several lovely wines from the family's Sardinia vineyards. Ask the knowledgeable servers for pairings. Opens at 12:30 for lunch. About 6:30 for dinner. Located just off Via Nazionale.

We ate there twice during our Rome holiday, pizza for lunch, and pizza and fried mixed seafood for dinner. All very satisfying (although my husband would have preferred more frying and a crispier exterior for the seafood, it was very much to my taste). Casual atmosphere with lots of local customers, well-priced with decent wines. If you're in the neighborhood,... More

It's hard with TripAdvisor because people feel that unless it has a five star rating then it will be awful. This restaurant is not awful but it is not by any means outstanding or memorable. The carbonara was authentic and the spaghetti tasted good. The wine was cheap and very drinkable. Good for a quick inexpensive tasty lunch, not good... More

The service was terrible and so was the food. Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from. Limited selection of wine (only dry ones). Pizza was okay, but the pasta tasted way too fishy. We couldn't even taste the sauce because the fish taste was so overwhelming. Lettuce in the salad was brown.

Dined here for dinner. Easy to get a table (we ate early at 6:30 pm). Good service and friendly staff. More traditional Italian menu. Pizza, pasta, meat/fish. I had the carbonara, my friend had the alfungi. Both had great flavours and decent portions. We both had tiramisu for dessert. This was a surprise as it was not traditional - more... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
