Dining in Trastevere on a Saturday evening... A good piece of advice for you guys: choose your restaurant and book waaaaay in advance if you want to be able to enjoy a good meal. We had spotted two places nearby: Da Enzo and Le Mani in Pasta, both well rated on TripAdvisor, but both fully booked when we showed up... More

Very good food and very friendly staff. The waitress apologised to us as we left for the slow service as they had a waitress and a chef away but we saw absolutely nothing wrong with the service and thought the timing was fine, so would love to see how fast the service is when all the staff are there! Overall... More

There were a few things that make me write this review. First we were not seated, once we asked if we can sit anywhere they just rolled their eyes, then they brought us the wine but no glasses (when we asked for glasses the waiter just gave thumbs up and brought them 3-4 mins later), one of the pastas 3... We'd been to this place for drinks. But food on other tables seemed great too. The staff was really nice and helpful.. They offer you pastries with wine...

Just been to this restaurant. Lovely back street venue, good quality food, top local wine and superb friendly staff. This restaurant is not far from our hotel and we had a lovely first night there. Great way to spend the start of the holiday. I've been to Rome three times and put this restaurant very high on my list.

We wanted to go to da Teo or to da Enzo...both were booked so those with no luck fall into this restaurant. Johnny Depp was very nice but the cook was in love... the food was sooo salty that you were just drinking and drinking.... so the restaurant is just lucky to be in the surrounding of the two good... It's not the best place you can get, but great food (Panzanella+ Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe) and nice atmosphere. After 2:30pm it gets crowded quite quickly as others in the area are closed, but noise is still below average and you can enjoy your meal. If you are Italian you'll recognise people on the wall as many pictures are hanging.... More

Literally around the corner from where we are staying. A small, lively, but not busy laneway. Tables were sufficiently spaced so we did not have to listen to our neighbours conversations - as opposed to many local restaurants! Food was good - we both had pasta, and the carbonara was very rich and tasty. A complimentary prosecco when we arrived... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
