Different but nice experience in this restaurante where you have not knive or fork. You eat with your fingers !!! Good food, but a too much dark ambience...

Stumbled across this gem around the corner of our hostel, and it was brilliant. Informal, relaxed atmosphere with friendly owner and quick service. The chicken was tender and delicious and the price was perfect. Highly recommend.

Don't be afraid to enter and try out some really different recipes. Even with no cutlery, and with some strange names, these dishes are great-tasting, fun and interesting. Don't be alarmed by the "hot" classification; most courses are easy on the western palate. Service is...More

I have lived in Eritrea and in Ethiopia for 20 years, and I often choose this restaurant when I want my taste buds to go back there. Try the zighinì dorho (dorho wott): you will not find a chicken like this anywhere else, real firm,...More

We celebrated a birthday with an authentic and delicious African meal. My friend had been to Massawa about ten years ago and wanted to go again for his birthday. It was even better than he remembered. The interior had regular tables and traditional wicker chairs...More

Although I prefer to eat Italian (or better Roman) food when I'm in Rome, I gave this a try. It serves typical Ethiopian food which I found very tasty. Mind you, you need to eat using your hands since knives and forks are not provided....More

A very well located restaurant, not far from the railway station? The décor is made up from Eryhtrean memorabilia, you feel at home when you come from that part of the world! You can eat local style, out of a "mosob", sharing your food with...More

We were very excited to dine at an African restaurant in Rome because the layout of the place is very nice. However, their appetizers are overpriced. I paid 4€ for 4 small falafels. The table next to us, clearly regulars, ordered more food than us...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only
way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The
Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas
in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s
famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to
its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub,
Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot
