I have to say my first dinning experience in Italy was in Rome, and it was a poor one! It's very hard to find a good non-turistic restaurant with reasonable prices in Rome, that is not located in Trastevere. However we were recomended by our...More

This restaurant was directly below our apartment, so after a long day sight-seeing we thought we would save our feet from more walking and eat locally. Luckily we still have another day to obliterate the memory - if we can find a better restaurant. Only...More

Very bad experience. Waiters act like they are making you a favor, being quite rude. 1 dish at a time for a table for 6 people. Food is nothing special, small portions.

No atmosphere, rude staff and poor quality ingredients. Tomato and basil salad was a hard tasteless tomato, one basil leaf on top and no dressing. This was Italian summer when tomatoes are ripe and delicious. Our pasta was cold and greasy.

Found this restaurant by chance, welcome was warm and a reasonably priced menu for the old quarter. Furniture is basic, but we found our five meals very filling and satisfying. Bottle of Pinot Grigio 18€ (almost half the price of other establishments). Although the place...More

We stopped by this restaurant without doing any research first, when we were in search of lunch. The menu offers a number of fresh pasta dishes, which was the draw. I selected the tonnarelli with mushrooms and peas, served in a white cream sauce. The...More

There isn't a whole lot about Trattoria da Giggi that inspires strong positives or negatives -- simply indifference. For lunch, I had what was essentially cacio e pepe -- it tasted OK, but the sauce broke while the dish was being prepared and didn't properly...More
