I typically only submit positive TripAdvisor reviews but I feel compelled to warn others so they don't make the same mistake as my husband and I did eating here. We stopped in here on a Friday night after a full day tour of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel - tired and hungry and only a few feet away from our... More

We had dinner at Trattoria Ciao. Service was a little slow, but we really enjoyed the seafood spaghetti.

Asked if the pasta was homemade and they said the fettuccine and gnocchi were home made fresh every day. They were wrong. The gnocchi were the worst I have tasted. We also had the veal scaloppini and that was awful. The waitress who took our order never came back to the table to ask if we needed anything. When we... More

Restaurant is located at an excellent location that's full of eateries. The place is quite busy. Pizza is ok but the pasta is much better. Quite big portion and good price. Service is not bad too.

A nice place with low noise and okay food. The pizza was rather disappointing with its nearly raw dough and too much tomato sauce... The pasta on the other hand was way better! In short; go for the pasta and not pizza!

Well, pure waste of money. Pizza was baked some time ago and was served heated. Not very thoroughly although. Better walk another 10 meters and find and any other place.

I had a pasta with tomato and peper. It was good but also very spicy. The wine was not expensive ! 0.5L for 5 euros. It was very weird that i had a table at the street. The cars could drive right behind me. Overal it was a pleasend meal!

My wife and I had our lunch here recently and decided to try there pizza. I can only describe what arrived at our table as the worst pizza I've ever received in any restaurant. It appeared to be a pre-heated Margarita pizza which had toppings added then re-heated. WHAT A DISAPPOINTING EFFORT

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this place when we couldn't find the restaurant we were looking for. We sat down because the menu outside showed decent prices. This place is a pretty typical Roman restaurant with an outside patio on the thin streets where you can people watch and look at the beautiful architecture. The prices are typical around... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
