Our first authentic Italian Margherita Pizza in Rome Italy. Fresh and hot from the oven. People surrounding us use fork and knife on pizzas. So when in Rome, we do as the Romans do. It does taste good. We enjoyed the food, the staff and the other folks enjoying their food with their family. Plenty of passer by crowds as... More

A week in Rome (heading home tomorrow) and we eat here 3 nights - every night was under €30 but we were well fed and extremely well looked after. The waiter and in particular the waitress was extremely friendly and courteous. We were familiar faces to them by the end of our stay. The quality of the food was excellent... More

We were in Rome for 3 nights and ate here twice. Was very close to our hotel and we had the option to eat in or outside. Food was great quality and inexpensive. Home wine was fab. Waiter had great chat.

We ate here for 3 evenings during recent trip to Rome. The staff were welcoming and it seemed to be very busy with locals using it. There was a very good range of starters/pizzas, meat/fish. Service was excellent and we were made to feel really welcome. The food was really nicely cooked, we had a range of antipasti, pasta, breads,... More

Went here for meal . Asked for pasta al pomodoro which was very tasty . Also asked for a dessert which contained 3 types of them - definitely the almond cake was the best one ! Tiramisu didn't taste nice at all ! The waiter was also a bit rude cause wouldn't smile or anything . The house wine wasn't... More

Very disappointing meal, my husband ordered the 'steak' medium rare, it was as thin as thin, tough, over cooked and generally unpleasant, it was served with a handful of chips which had been cooked in oil which needed changing some time ago. I ordered the ravioli which was supermarket quality with supermarket sauce stirred through it... not the best service... More

Had lunch here on our first day - pizza for 5 and one chicken and chips. Got garlic bread and olives for free while we waited. Chicken came a good 10 mins before the pizza and was described as ok. Pizzas were nice, beer ok and wine cheapest we've found. €8 for a litre of house white. We retuned just... More

This restaurant was just around the corner from our accommodation. It has a great local atmosphere and food at reasonable prices. The tiramisu was particularly enjoyable. The service was sometimes slow as we had to wait for coffee which didn't come in the end.

Thank Colin S

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
