I don't think that this is the best ice cream in the city, but the place sure does look very nice. The portions are rather small, I ordered three flavors but the ice cream was relatively small, still nice.

The heart of Rome where the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain are located could also be known as ground zero for gelato. Venchi got our attention because of its attractive window display of ice cream cones and the queues of people waiting to buy gelato. Going inside the store you will see what looks like a chocolate fountain. From there on,... More

Looking for Gellato near The Pantheon, our Lonely planet book led us to Venchi and we were not disappointed. Opulent, richly-aromatic and airy inside, the array of treats on offer was hard to choose from! The Gellato itself was delicious. A great spot to visit for a really tasty treat.

We ate Gelato in lots of places in Rome but we really liked this one. The chocolates on top or in the cone were an added treat. The shop is also cool and has chocolates you can buy for gifts at home. You will run into a couple of these shops just while you are walking around the tourist areas.

Without a doubt the best ice-cream I ate while in Rome. At the time there was scaffolding outside so I'm glad I found this place. There is literally a wall made of chocolate and even in January the cold ice-cream was so worth it!

At the one in the middle of Rome, there was literally a chocolate fountain flowing behind the workers. This is what got my family's attention. Once inside, I got the chocolate crepes with a side of gelato. The chocolate in the crepes was so rich and creamy - I literally couldn't even partake of the gelato as I was just... More

Everyone has a favorite gelato spot in Rome. A friend said the best gelato is near Trevi Fountain. There are of course many near Trevi Fountain. We found this one and to us, this is the best gelato in Rome near the Trevi Fountain. Not only that they have a wall of flowing chocolate. Who wouldn't like that?

There were two Venchi Locations within walking distance of our hotel (The Albergo Del Senato near the Pantheon). When you get to Rome, you'll quickly notice there there are Gelato places almost every 100 yards, and in many cases, even closer than that. We tried many of them and Venchi by FAR had the best flavor, texture and selection. Their... More

It became a daily ritual to stop in for gelato at this small shop near the Spanish Steps or the larger location with the Cascada de Chocolate on Via del Corso. There may be more highly regarded gelaterias in Rome, but you won't be disappointed eating here. The service is top notch.

The place is awesome. Chocolates and desserts everywhere. We had visited another Venchi location and had ice creams, so we got the stuff to go. It's near all the expensive shopping places. Everything is freshly made and hence has to be eaten in few days or it goes bad.
