My apartment was only a block from here. I was checking on TripAdvisor for dinner places and found this place and decided to walk over. It is on small winding street on the way to the Pantheon. They have a large outdoor seating area, in addition to inside. I sat outside as it was beautiful and warm. My waitress was... More

Ate here with my wife Cheryl last night after reserving online with Fork which gave us 20 percent reduction. The ambience was fantastic nicely lit up outside. It wasn't,t too busy but do not let that put you off as the food and friendliness of the staff are second to none. Correct amount of customer attention. A welcome with a... More

I went to this restaurant based on the trip advisor reviews. I found the service very accurate and fast but the food is plain average I had the sauté of cozze& vongole and was fresh but lacking spice and salt I had the linguine with seafood, but they were very plain with no chili or anything to make them come... I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant my second night in Rome. Jet lag was still getting the best of me and the last thing I wanted was a tourist trap. Enter La Tavernetta 48. From the moment I walked in, the server (I have to ask her name next time, and yes, there will be a next time!) was an... More

My husband and I had dinner here on a Thursday evening. By the time we left around 9:30, the restaurant was full. We were greeted with glasses of prosecco and ended our meal with limoncello. I had the house red wine and it was fine. The food was delicious. We shared the mozzarella and prosciutto plate - plenty for two... More

My wife and I could not wait to return to Italy to revisit La Tavernetta 48. We made our way through the quaint streets and alley ways in the lite rain to find Lorena outside preparing for the evening. We advised we did not have a reservation and asked if we could possibly get in later. She was extremely accommodating,... More

Lovely food, lovely service- I just felt underwhelmed, having visited here several years ago. The menu had changed and seemed more expensive this time around, but my partner- whose first time it was at the restaurant- loved the meal. Glasses of prosecco are given to you when you are sat down, and the service really is lovely.

Eating out in Rome can be tricky, and mostly leave you disappointed with little value for money.. This place was recommended by our hotel and very glad we visited. The place is not one of the tourist traps you can end up in but is still very central. The waiting staff were very polite and considerate without being overbearing helping... More

Lovely little restaurant, advance bookings a must if you want to sit outside. Excellent food, attentive service, quiet setting. It was so good that we went back the following night even without reservations.
