We've been in Rome more than 13 times and it was the first time we took a seat on the terrace of this famous cafe/restaurant. Yes you can enjoy the atmosphere of tourists and locals passing by but : service is poor, staff not friendly. Locals got extra's like small biscuits with tea or coffee. No Italian speaking visitors got... More

We travelled 20 day around italy, this was by far the most expensive and the worst when it comes to service and food. We spent 285 euros per 4 primi piati, antipasti, 2 spritz and one bottle of regular wine. Food is nothing special. People working there are not welcoming at all. They kept staring at us so we would... More

What a nightmare: €15,47 for 1 cup of coffee and 1 cup of tea. I repeat: €15,47 for 2 drinks!!!! Without a smile. With a crappy bathroom. Don't. Just. Don't.

We ordered three dishes and one of them was so salty and basically had to be dumped away. And waiters pretended that they could not remember what you asked:( When we got the bill, we were shocked by the ridiculous charges. The pane was served without our request but we got charged, and the service charge ( they call it... More

The place has the square view. If the weather is fine, you may take a seat outside and watch people passing. We had coffee and hot chocolate which was "not" delicious. For lunch/dinner you'd better search for the trattorias in back streets.

Rosati is a well known restaurant of roman society on Piazza del Popolo; It's not an tourist local; a wonderfull terrace on the piazza with nice view; locals like this place very much to meet here with her friends and to see what all happen in Rome; the restaurant is excellent, delicious menus, but the prices were a bit steep;... We had good service from the waiter and my wife annoyed her meal. However, I was paying €15 for penne al arrabiata, which is pasta in a spicy tomato sauce. I have to admit when I was given a tasteless bowl of dry- not fresh pasta, I wanted to elbow drop the chef. I'm sure his mother wouldn't serve him... More

This oval square has the Porta del Popolo which once was the northern gate to Rome. We had come to see the twin churches, Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto but one was under renovation and closed for the afternoon hours and the other was closed. You should always check to see what hours churches are open.... More

Great location - you can sit here and witch th surrounding for hours. Excellent servis and delicious food .... Higher prices correspond to the location right on the top of Via del Corso

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
