We are on night 2 of 4 in Rome and have been eating our way through the city via trip advisor. We are staying in the Borgo Pio area and I looked for a close restaurant that was open late. We found Mama's open till 11:30pm last night at around 10:30pm. Every dish was a 10 out of 10. We... More

Taste of Italy in a cozy restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. Close to the Vatican and Sant Angelo Castel.

Few places are open in the late afternoon for a sit down meal. We were glad this place was. Great food and service!

My wife and I enjoyed an early dinner at Mama' after an enjoyable day spent on the other side of the Tiber. My lamb chops were prepared perfectly, and my wife's pasta was superb. The Chianti enhanced the food, and to say we were very pleased is an understatement. Prices were reasonable, and the service was very good.

Had lunch here, it has a very local feel with not many tourists. The food was very tasty. The service was also good. the only thing that could be improved was the music / pop english music - although once the restaurant filled up you couldn't really heat the music anyway. we will return.

Very close restaurant from Vatican. Large choice of Italian food, tasty and significant portions. I took Millefeuilles of Grilled vegetables & Mozzarella, Grilled Salmon with vegetables, and a tiramisu for dessert. Most of the employees speak English. Everything was perfect, thank you again Mama' Ristorante!!

The zuppa di pesce - fish soup was outstanding and the price was very good. The dish had plenty of fish, shrimp, and claims and very well seasoned. We went back a second night and the food was just as good and the service excellent. Would highly recommend

I love it! Service was overall good, bit slowly, but c'moon, we're in Rome. Our waiter spoke good english. Beef tartar with salad and potatoes were extremely good! Best tartar steak what I ever had. My mum ate "Cacio e pepe" dish, very rich & cheesy. Very good also. Wines were excellent, italians just know how to do it.... So... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
