Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing find. We walked by this restaurant on our first night in Rome and after looking at the menu, we decided to dine here. What a great spot! Although, it is located in a touristy area, it was very authentic and the food was amazing....I kept comparing every restaurant to this one afterwards. Can’t wait to come back!More

Very much enjoyed this family owned and operated local restaurant. I emphasize local since despite the restaurant being in an area frequented by tourists, very clearly most of the patrons were local. There seemed to be a mix up with our reservation but they honored...it despite being full and turning away several other "walk up" guests. Very kind of them. We sat outside as it was great night. Excellent appetizer, main course and desert. We got the sole which was plenty for 2. Definitely recommend it but get a reservation as they were full even on a weekday!More

Bad experience. The restaurant offered me bread for starter which I didn’t order at all, and when checking they charged me 4 euro for it. I don’t care if it’s common in Rome, but it’s the restaurant’s obligation to tell the customer what...they are going to charge before all. Otherwise you are just taking advantage of me. Bad experience and bad first impression of Rome.More

On our way back to hotel we stopped at this restaurant for dinner. When we walked in, it was empty and they told us we needed reservations. They took one look at us and obviously didn’t want us seated in the restaurant. They finally sat...us on the patio in the far corner. We have been traveling for almost a month and this was the worst service and most expensive we have encountered. Think twice before eating here, food was fair and service was none! We have finished dinner and restaurant is less than 1/4 full. Do Not judge a book by its cover!!!More

A very nice typical Italian restaurant. Good wine. The food was a bit too salty. Service was good and server was attentive.

We were so happy to find this restaurant with some great reviews. Unfortunately, we were treated differently because we were Americans. Watched as others who spoke Italian had wonderful service but we did not . Our meal was not the quality we had hoped for.... Asked for the check to pay and couldn’t even do that , waited for 20 minutes. Very disappointedMore

Great restaurant right in the middle of the hotel district and on the edge of the Borghese park. As travelers, we want to find simple authentic restaurants that don't feel too touristy - this is one of them. Vey nice proprietor and service. Nice classic...Roman food, but with better seafood dishes than we saw in other places around Rome. Recommend the tiny fried calamari appetizer, also the octopus appetizer is very good. Fresh amberjack fish entree with simple tomato finish also a recommentation.More

One of our good friends back in the US recommended we check this place out. We moved several things around in our itinerary just to eat dinner here, and holy cannoli was it worth it. Genuinely the best food we’ve ever eaten. My wife’s comment...to me, mid-chew as she tried my carbonara, was, “this place has absolutely ruined me for any other pasta, nothing will ever measure up.” If the food, wine, and dessert weren’t already enough for highest marks, the service was also genuinely spectacular. The food came out timely and the servers were attentive, courteous, and at times downright hilarious. As the final touch to a perfect evening, from the moment we arrived and throughout our meal, the owner, Claudio, treated us like we were old friends, family even. Grazie mille, Claudio. You made our trip one to remember.More

This is mainly a seafood restaurant in Italian style but they do have other dishes too. We had the frutti di mare and it was good. The prices are slightly higher, especially if you combine with wine and starters. We had a good meal and...drinks , two for 90 Euro. I liked the good service and food.More

Cheerful bistro near the Via Veneto. Clientele appeared mostly local repeat visitors. The menu and wine lists are modest but sufficient. The food is well prepared at moderate portions. The calamari grill and caponata were excellent. The caponata in particular was a variation on the...Sicilian classic and worked very well. Service is pleasant and attentive. Knowledge of Italian would be helpful but is not necessary. Value is very good. A repeat for us.More

The ambiance was lovely and staff were delightful. A big contrast to the abrupt arrogant service we received the past two days. Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. The steak (recommended by the waiter) was tough, fatty, and stringy. The cod, represented as fresh...and also recommended, was saltier than salt cod I had in Portugal. Had I ordered it, I would have sent it back since it was misrepresented. My companion was uncomfortable doing so, sadly. I was surprised no one even inquired about our satisfaction. Insalata was fresh, crisp and generous and potatoes nicely done if too spicy for my preferences. I really wanted to like Il Localino, but I doubt I’d go back.More
