We had multiple flavors of gelato here, all delicious. Our child with allergies (milk, nuts, peanuts) had a huge gelato with no problem. Very friendly and supportive service.

Excellent gelato. Best we had in Italy on our 10 day tour. Not the greatest selection, but homemade, with homemade cones available. Prices weren't bad for the area either.

My son, who has food allergies, and I had been traveling around Italy for a few weeks and he was bummed he could never have gelato. I googled in every city to see if there was a place with nut free gelato, but didn’t find...anything until this place. They were super knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to accommodate. They make certain (safe) flavors first thing in the morning and keep them together and use a new scoop when you let them know you have allergies. We were in Rome for 5 days and went here 4 times. Not only was it safe for my son, it was really fantastic and high-quality gelato. Thank you L’arena!More

I think this place is overrated. It's a tipical tourist place where you only get the look not the taste. I would not recommend it you will find better gelateria.

Great ice cream. The creams were great, both classic (milk based) and vegan (water based). Also the fruits were amazing, with lemon and passion fruit very fresh yet tasty.

Lovely place to have gelato after your visit to Vatican City specifically if the weather is very warm. They are super careful with allergies and I really appreciate that. The panna cotta gelato was soooo tasty!!

Excellent! I am really amazed how educated they are regarding celiacs. They offered me gluten free cone and instantly changed the spoon for ice cream. The staff is so kind and polite and the ice cream is delicious. I highly recommend this place!

Perfection. As someone who struggles with severe peanut, and nut allergies, the owner Giuseppe went above and beyond to make sure I could experience some of Rome's finest gelato. Giuseppe was a kind and humble man who puts his heart into his business. Not only...was the gelato delicious, Giuseppe took the time to explain their allergy and production protocols, and even provided me untouched flavors from the back that had no risk of cross contamination of my allergens. I usually avoid ice cream/ gelato places because of the worry of cross contamination, but that was not an issue here! I can't thank L'arena Del Gelato enough for being my gelato highlight!!! Allergies aside, the GELATO WAS PHENOMENAL, and we returned a couple times during our short stay!!!More

I’m terribly allergic to peanuts and the whole staff seems to be very well versed in their gelato making process and they have a specific order in which they make the gelato to minimize the chance of peanuts getting to other flavors. It is a...family owned business and they obviously are dedicated to their craft. We have and will visit the store again! All flavours we have tested so far have been hevenly!More

It’s always great to find good gelato when visiting a new city , but what’s even better is when you not only find delicious desert but after three nights of return visits you feel you’ve made a new friend! One of the owners Giuseppe was...such a delight! He has a superb product, but equally as fun to visit with! If you are anywhere near this shop don’t hesitate to get a treat and make a friend! We will see you again :) cheers!More

As far as I can remember they only take cash. It is always good to carry some cash when travelling in Italy as numerous shops do not take credit card.
