I was feeling like eating ice cream inmediately after lunch and my friends agreed to accompany me. I chose this place because a free walking tour guide reccomended it. It was really cold so we sat inside the place with one big cup of ice cream. Suddenly, someone, who seemed like the owner, told us that we four could't be... More

This was, bar none, the best gelato I had in 2 weeks of devouring gelato in sub zero temperature. Unable to decide, the friendly owner recommended their secret flavour. I don't know what it is but it's delicious. So smooth, thick and not full of air pockets. Not sickeningly sweet, just enough to make you long for more as you... More

Close by Vatican. Must try out. There is a selection of flavours. I personally loved the top secret hedera! If you are a pistachio lover, make sure you don't miss their pistachio gelato too! One spoon and you will fall in love with that sweet, nutty flavour lingering in your mouth!

Have been back twice already in 2 days and will be going back tomorrow also. Service is 10/10. Flavours and traditional but amazing. The top secret Hedera special is the best. Easily the best in Rome and worth the trip. Price is also very reasonable.

A superb place to get your ice cream or sweet. It is located within walking distance from the Vatican. I got stracciatella and another ice cream with nuts on a hand made cone and my wife an apple pie with chocolate ice cream; exceptional quality. To my opinion it is a must go place !

Wow! What a great place to get some homemade ice cream! I have to say after being in Rome for 7 days and getting ice cream every night this has to be the best place yet! You must go! The parlor is so cute and quaint, I fell in love with it passing by and when I was inside

It is not difficult to find good Gelato in Italy but after several trips and numerous cities I have to say that Hedera is my favorite. Outstanding flavors and a consistency that is a bit creamier make this a standout.

Lovely place, delicious ice cream with natural flavors! We tried quite a lot of places but this is definitely the best gelattera in Rome. Try it, you won't regret!

Great gelato! Small gelato place that serves other desserts as well. There is a small seating area outside on a quiet street so you can sit and enjoy the sights.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
