My family of ten had an amazing meal over lunch with fresh ingredients and wonderful hospitality. Ask the server what to order because his suggestions were phenomenal. Beer was cold and pastas fresh.

This trattoria was just down from our hotel (Hotel S. Anna). The very friendly waiter outside greeted everyone going by, so we stopped in for a glass of wine. Received a "nice pour" of "vino rosso di casa" which was excellent. After sightseeing we were ready to rest at an outside table that evening, so we stopped back in and... More

Very good location and very good services. I ordered a steak it took them more than 30mins to cook. It was than and medium well. It's quite slow to me. The steak isn't salty enough, it's just meat with no flavor. I have to put on salt to eat it. Not really bad. Just flat.

The rating is 4 purely because of the friendly staff. We made the mistake to order the set menu which was not fresh in my opinion and I didn't like the food (pasta and roasted veel). However the staff was very welcoming and made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Found this little place by the Vatican and had dinner there - friendly staff - I had the farfelle pasta with pesto and my husband had the spaghetti with bolangese sauce- both were delicious- With so many choices of restaurants we lucked out on this one - the pasta is all homemade -

Perfectly fine food and attentive service in this tourist-oriented restaurant. Can't complain about anything, really, but it is not a fine-dining experience. The maitre d' hawks from the street for you to come in, come in...and after checking the price and selection and seeing that the place was clean...you go in (or sit outside). The food is good, not superb,... More

I would say we liked the atmosphere and the waitress more than the food. The nice latin guy who called himself Al Pacino! He was very funny and attentive to the guests. Talking about food; the roasted lamb and potato was great but was a bit overloaded with olive oil! The fettucini with meat sauce was also great to our... More

We ate here twice during our recent stay in Rome. The first time because it was close to the hotel and the second because we enjoyed it so much the first time. The first time the restaurant was quite busy and the only spare outside table was in the midst of all the other tables. We were after something a... More

We definitely do not regret going in this restaurant. We were looking for some nice place for about an hour and we were happy that man who called himself Al Pacino from Peru lured us in. We were sitting outside. They brought us also ice for the wine which was not done automatically in other restaurants we visited. Time to... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
