As a couple of young romans, we were looking for a nice spot since our favourite one was closed. Not such a large choice in August. We made one mistake: we had lunch here. Gnocchi with tomato sauce: tomatoes were acid and pasta overcooked French fries: cold and flabby Vegetables on hot plate: tasteless So quality is pretty bad and... More

We ate here last night and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We had spaghetti with garlic and oil, four cheese pizza, gnocchi and spaghetti carbonara with a large bottle of water including a 3 euro service charge all for under 40 euros. Service was quick despite the place being busy. Would recommend and definitely return if in the area.

This place smells like Tourist trap. The menu with 2 dishes and one side costs 15 with a glass of the house wine ( weak ) BUT, I must say: The pasta dishes were pretty good. I am not an expert, but we've tried from very expensive to really cheap places and this place really made everyone happy. For that... More

We have made our order: 4 mane dishes, no drinks. In about 2 minutes, the waiter has returned, almost yelling, that 'here, we eat AND drink, so if you don't want to drink, please, out'. We wanted to ask a menu to choose the drinks, but the waiter kept yelling 'PLEASE, OUT!'. So we were kicked out of the restaurant.

Keen and attentive staff, pasta excellent as one would expect, the spring lamb was fresh but overdone nothing special. Bill for 5 adults and 4 kids was 130 euro including the tip. No alcohol just water. They were pleasant the food was pleasant the wifi was free and the air conditioning welcome.

We stopped here after waiting far too long to stop for lunch, two tasty pizzas were with us quickly and the staff joked with customers outside. Very pleasant and reasonably priced.

Some of the reviews on this place seem to set a pretty high standard on a place the only holds itself out to be a trattoria, not some gastronomic adventure. It is one of 4 in close proximity, and we picked it for 3 reasons - 1 the menu looked good and the prices were okay; 2 the host was... More

there are a very few places that serve good that is no good, this place is one of them. theres a lady that will be around the Vatican to lure people in the restaurant giving you a 10 Euro offer. the deal looks really good, and they promise you a lot of variety. once you go in there, all that... My wife and I were looking for an authentic local place but wound up in a definite tourist area. We chose this restaurant out of 10 or more on this street. Service was slow from the beginning. We ordered an appetizer and two courses each. The food was delicious. My wife did not care for the house white wine but... More

Pizza was quite ok, seafood average quality but...... I have never, never ever paid 6€ so far for a medium sized mixed salad with green tomatoes. As a comparison the pizza price is 8€. I can't hold feeling a bit fooled (sure if you look into the menu you will find the price)

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
