So, this restaurant doesn't seem to be called La Luna any more, not sure if that has anything to do with why we found it disappointing. The food is overpriced, and average at best. We went in at 8pm on a Friday and were the only people there. We didn't bother with the extortionate starters and both had a fillet... More

This restaurant is located in an hotel, and on the night we ate there, for a special occasion, the whole clientele were tourists. The food is amazing and the service exceptional, but then again, you pay for that. The view wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be, which kind of cost it the last star : it's part... More

(+) view is nice, if you have the chance of a good position of your table; otherwise, you see only the other clients. (-) food is averaged; well cooked, but small portions; rather slow service, not very helpful. Extremely expensive (150 Euro for two persons, no wine, only one dish each). There are a lot of other excellent restaurants nearby.

We found this roof top restaurant via a helpful hotel doorman. The wonderful early evening views and excellent service were backed up by an outstanding meal. Expensive, but the qualty of the food made it all worthwhile.

The restaurant we wanted to eat at wasn't open and La Luna was so we stopped in. I enjoyed my pasta dish with shrimp.

A surprisingly good deal. This night a 1/2 roast chicken with sides for only 12 Euros, a bargain by any standard but the food was very tasty, sat on the outside patio (on the main street).

For our first night in Rome we chose to book a table at this nearby and highly recommended restaurant. we booked in advance. The earliest seating is 19.30, and by then it is dark if February. so the view was not impressive... The restaurant was empty, but for one more table. not such a good sign. We got a bread... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
