We wonder who wrote the positive comments on this restaurant. The food is greasy, even the traditional spaghetti carbonara are disgusting with a taste of burned bacon. The salad who came on the side of the grilled chicken was obviously from plastic bags and not...More

Dear Eric, We do not know where you are used to having your lunch / dinner but, from your review, you look like a three-stars Michelin Chef. If you had asked us to see the kitchen, we would have shown it (obviously from the outside,...More

Booked a table for 9pm for myself and girlfriend. Heard great reviews about the area and saw VII Coorte highly reviewed. Food was overpriced and nothing to write home about. Staff had next to no English (which I can't complain too much as I have...More

The seafood was good overall, although clearly not fresh it was very well cooked and tasty. The service was great, however not all waiters had a clear understanding of English. We recommend that you book a table online, so that you can get a significant...More

We had a meal here on the first night of the holiday. The venue looked very nice but sadly the food was pretty poor. Really we could have done better ourselves which you don't expect when you go to A restaurant in Italy. I ordered...More

Dear Rob, we are really sorry if you did not have what you expect. We feel obliged to point out that the pasta you are complainig, has made with fresh sicilian red shrimps. In Italy they are usually not served unshelled because of the preparation...More

We were the first guests to arrive at the fantastic terrass at VII Coorte but we never felt alone. Sensibly introduced to sicilian kitchen and wine we had the most exquisit dinner i Trastevere. This IS worth a detour! Wouldn't that mean a Michelin star?...More

The ristorante is in Trastevere, which feels like the "everyday" Roma - unlike the ancient city with all the tourists. And most of the people eating at the restaurant appeared to be Italians, which is always a good sign. It's a seafood-dominant menu, and great...More

Nice attentive service, very good food and fair prices. Calm atmosphere on balcony. The only downside is that not all waiters speak a good enough English.

Booked a table, but that doesn't make a difference to the table given!. We were placed right by the toilets, given no other option, even though other tables were available while we were there. Our 2 courses were good, but we were not told we...More

Dear Simone, first of all we would like to apologise if you did not feel served as every guest deserves. It is not an excuse, but it was Saturday evening and the restaurant was almost fully booked. This was also the reason why you had...More

Tried several seafood dishes and they were all very well made. Very nice service with owner-like guy explaining the menu in detail beforehand. It has two indoor dining areas and a terrace where we stayed which was very cosy.

I had one salad with octopus and some shrimps and calamari as a main course!! Both were very tasty! The service was excellent if you compare it with other restaurants in Rome!! Highly recommended!!

Dear Mike, thank you very much for your fantastic review. We are pleased you enjoyed our cuisine, as the service as well. We are looking forward to hosting you again next time you will visit our fantastic town. A presto!

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

My boyfriend and I are visiting Rome for the first time 29Dec-3rd Jan and looking for a nice place to eat on New Years. We are staying at H10 Roma Citta and hoping to get somewhere in walking distance. Is that nearby? Also can we sit outside/see fireworks and celebrations? Natasha

Hi Natasha, not really close, but easy to access by trams or metro. It is just off the first tram stop in Trastevere after leaving Piazza Venizia. It looks like you are staying far to the south, an area we didn't spend much... More
