Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There was 2 of us and they had a big group: assume cruise group. We had to ask to place an order. Totally forgot about us; had to flag the waiter every-time and asked for another drink . They didn’t bring the 4th drink. Never...came back and checked on us. They charged for 4 drinks and only had 3 since they forgot to bring it. They were apologetic after I brought it to their attention. We were going to order dessert but fughet about it!!!!More

Fabrizio and his staff are top notch. One visit and he remembered our names and drinks and went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. Cannot say enough good things about our experiences at this restaurant. Hats off to the Le...Roof Restaurant team!More

Atmoshere and service is magnificent. The food was cooked to perfection. For the final course, I had the chicken stuffed with shrimps. The meal was perfectly made, but I wish that I would have selected something that I never make myself at home.

We had a business dinner for 25 people in the restaurant. A set menu 3 course meal. The food was excellent & the servers brought it out promptly for the whole group. We ate inside because the autumn chill had begun. Very enjoyable.

The food was excellent, the grilled octopus was crisp and presented excellently. My wife had the smoked salmon cream cheese and had food envy. For mains; my wife had the lamb, she liked both the seasoning. I had the duck with honey & apple, it...was a surprisingly excellent dish. The view was obscured by the wall sitting too high, the seating and tables outside need to be taller. Some music would have been nice, I don’t need to listen to the traffic. There was a mini grand piano in the bar as you walk in, I asked if it’s ever played, they said no. The best thing about this restaurant was the vicinity to our room, we were staying in the Puccini presidential suite which is just below the restaurant and offers the same view, it’s literally a 6 second walk from our door.More

Where to start.... guests at the Grand Ritz Hotel for 5 days , after making a reservation Sunday morning for the convenience of being on the top floor of our hotel. It wasn’t till We arrived in the restaurant I looked them up on trip...advisor & it states they were closed Sunday, I wish they had told us, as we would have looked elsewhere 100% let down is an understatement!!!! there was no atmosphere in the restaurant, no music, no other guests except us two & two waiters & the chef. We found one out of the two serving staff were very abrupt & very rude!!! The younger staff member was fantastic 🙌🏻 employ more like him please 🙏🏼 (We are business owners ourselves & finding the right staff is so crucial to any business regardless of your status) We felt it was such a rip off for what we had paid !!! we ordered one course each as we just wanted to leave the place !! A veggie pasta & the lamb dish which came nicely presented but there were only 3 pieces of lamb upon a bed of spinach which was tasteless 😬 We ordered one cocktail & one beer each The usual bread meze that comes out on the table & one & a half bottles of water We paid €80 for this!!! It was so Shocking !! It felt like we basically covered the staffs wages for the day!!! The night before we ate in Nina’s across the road from our hotel, we both had had two courses with sides each, same bread meze, 2 large bottles of water and a bottle of Rose’ with spritz on the side we paid €85 for this it’s incomparable !!!More

You just have to try this restaurant. Walking into a Moon sky type scenario with low light beams. The table setting is more romantic than the room itself. I tried the following meals as a starter to the Master plate- Crispy Lobster with chopped eggplant...and basil, then Red Fragottelli paste stuffed with Burrata cheese sauce, and Finally Tuna fish with cherries and potatoes. It was the tastiest food I ever had in Rome. Wonderful.More

Travelled over 16,000km from Melbourne to experience a magnificent meal. Friendly host, attentive staff and a beautiful atmosphere with lovely views of Rome from the balcony. I cannot fault the food or the service. The food presentation is amazing. Certainly well worth the experience. Definitely...a 5 star meal, and in comparison, I thought the prices were quite reasonable. We will definitely return again on our next visit to Rome.More

It took 58minutes to receive an entree, over an hour and a half to receive a main course, the lamb was so undercooked (like a blue cooked steak) I could not eat it. The pizza shop or supermarket around the corner is a much better...option.More

Visited last Saturday while on holiday in Rome. Greeted by the head chef and made to feel very welcome. Started with drinks on the balcony with a lovely view. Decided on the full tasting menu and it didn’t disappoint, 7 courses with an amazing combination...of food and flavours. Recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rome! 👌🏻🍾More

As we were lodging inside the hotel, it was normal to test the "famous" restaurant on the roof as everywhere in the restaurant the image of Gaetano chief was present ... so as a french fan of restaurant I imagined that was someting like Ducasse,...Troisgros or Mr Guerard who are used to communicate ... Forget it! The ambiance of the restaurant is very cold, the "roof" offers you the view only on a church not so old (nice picture on the web ...) without any interest. The menu is too complicated (names of dishes) compared to what you have at the end in your plate ... Service is correct: we were only two tables ... so two guys to serve two tables that enough and sometime too as the guys stay at 5 m of your table waiting for the end of your plate .. If I have to give an advice: go outside of this hotel, make 50m and go to Nina's fish restaurant = greta, grat and great !!!!!!!!! (i ma now a fan)More

Combining fine cuisine with Italian traditional food is not easy, since the basic ingredients are robust and the flavors strong. In many cases, the result is disappointing, since the good points of the traditional dishes are diluted in wrong and inappropriiate ingredients. Gaetano Costa is...a case of success: the traditional recipes of Italy are revisited and enhanced with good taste and outstanding ingredients. It is a culinary experience not to be missed. The service is careful and very professional, the additional touches are all present, the wine list is excellent. And, above all, the prices, although higher than the average in Rome, are surprisingly moderate considering the high class of the place.More
