Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A terrific view over the city from the 7th floor of the Splendido Royal Hotel; with dining available both inside and “outside” in a glassed in series of tables with great views of Rome over to St Peter’s. Excellent high-end cuisine with all the great...touches like amuse bouche, great selection of breads. The a la carte menu offers options for 2 choices at 105 EU; three for 140 EU, and so on. One person can order two courses, the other three if they prefer. Expansive wine list with reasonable options. We have dined here a number of times over multiple visits to Rome. Terrific steak tartare, and a nice beef-for-two dish, which was effectively Beef Wellington. Nice grand marnier souffle for dessert. Top notch professional service. Perfect for a romantic night in Roma, or that special occasion. My one off-put was the waiter, who was friendly and excellent all night, then presenting the bill and saying “tips are not included”. Really? This happenned several times on our trip this time…not in most places….something new? We all know that Italy isn’t like the US for tipping…totally different system….so let’s not go there…I ended up giving more than the usual “round it up” for special service, then walked away feeling like that shouldn’t be stated by the waiter.More

An incredible fine dining experience. This is a night to splurge. We were on our honeymoon and ready for it. If you are going to do the full tasting menu for two, with wine pairings, a cocktail before, a tip, be prepared to spend $1k....If you are prepared and you budgeted, then you will not be surprised and you can fully enjoy the entire experience. It will be several hours of eating, drinking and enjoying the view. The service is incredible and the food is an art.More

WOW!! What an amazing restaurant hidden on the 7th floor of a hotel. Take the pristine brass lift up to see views across Rome.

We enjoyed this restaurant during our stay in Rome. Our table was on the rooftop overlooking the city lights. Several waiters assisted us with dinner including a wine sommelier. This place has a Michelin star and once you taste the food you understand why. We...did the 4 course meal option with appetizers (scallops in pastry/rice water and beef tartare), first course (salad), second course (Carbonara my way with black garlic) and main course (veal, beef/steak). White table clothes, crystal china with Their name engraved, mirrors and glamorous decor. Several celebrities have eaten at this restaurant. Even the lobby is elaborate. 5 stars for sure. Not cheap but to be expected.More

Worst Meal In Years- Save yourself! Do not be enticed by the views because I promise it is NOT worth it. The wine sucked, the bread was hard and cold, my croquette was also cold, we ordered 40 minutes before the table next to us...and got our food at the same time, my husband got the oxtail ravioli it was okay- such a small portion. I got minestrone soup and it was passable but completely not worth it. The waiter spilled Coca Cola all over my husband and there wasn’t even an apology. We are all for $$$$$ meals but this was a COMPLETE waste of time, money and sadly we missed an awesome opportunity to eat at an authentic Italian restaurant. Wish I had a Time Machine to reverse whatever convinced us to book a Rez here. There are many other roof top views in the area. w hotel for example . 🫢More

That was the most revolting meal of my life. We had like warm oysters, the beef tartare was so thickly cut it was so hard to chew. The main course fish was covered in oil and the rice was gluggy and tasted like glue. The...tables are so close together you feel like you’re sitting on top of the person next to you. Do not waste your time or money on this awful establishment. The restaurant is not clean and needs a refurbishment desperately. With all the great great restaurants in Rome I cannot believe I wasted a night here. Such a shame. Never ever again.More

Perfect ending to our vacation! This restaurant came highly recommended from our St. Regis concierge Georgina and it lived up to her praise! We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent views, outstanding service, delicious food and wonderful wine. It is a once in a lifetime experience, I have never been to a restaurant like that. But you will pay for it, it was over $100 a person for...lunch. You are paying for the experience and it is worth it, as long as you realize the cost for a lunch. The restaurant was so pretty I was taking pictures of the decor and the doors, very neat place.More

Fantastic ristorante with breathtaking views of Rome! Definitely go at sunset and ask to sit on the terrace. Food was incredible, multiple tasting options and wonderful to have continental options after so many days in Italy. But the ambiance is why you should go to...this restaurant! It’s a very special place and not to be missed!More

We don’t understand how anyone can criticise this restaurant. This place is incredible! We visited this evening family of 4 from the UK. Danielle our server was the friendliest, most helpful person we have met since arriving in Rome and the atmosphere in the restaurant...was simply outstanding. The menu is very sophisticated but they did cater for our 10 year old daughter in a fabulous way also, allowing us to enjoy a world class meal with her enjoying a simple chicken and fries. Our meals were simply wonderful, delicious, the best we have tasted, service and setting incredible! Do not hesitate to experience this beautiful establishment. Well done staff!More

So disappointed. My partner was turned away because he wearing shorts. The manor in this was executed was very unprofessional as this was done in front of everyone. We were also asked if we took a good look at the rest as it’s very expensive...and we don’t know how to dress.( we were dressed very well ). I’m so disgusted with the way we were treated and ruined our last night in Rome. We have been to many 5 star restaurants and hotels around the world and this was the first time we have ever been treated like this. This hotel needs a crash course in customer service and we will deft never be going back there ever. There are so many nicer and friendlier rests in Rome. Don’t waste your time or money.More
