This place should be a must go for anyone who enjoys sushi rolls! The entire place is suggestive, the staff pretty nice and the food quick to arrive and so good. I'd definitely go back.

It deserves a consistency prize as it always delivers excellence in every type of plates being prepared. My all time favourite is "sashimi morikomi", a well balanced sashimi across different types of fishes integrated with raw shrimps and calamari. Also a No Miss is the Tempura. This is probably one of the best preparation (outside Japan) that I have ever... More

If you are around Piazza di Spagna and wanna get a good sushi this is the place. You can get a menu for just 15 euro or you can get an a la carte item (a little bit pricey in my view). Service is good but the place is crowded (generally a good sign indeed).

In general no changes over the years is positive, but here really nothing changes, not the furniture, not the people, not the menu, that is only getting more expensive over time and with portions that are getting smaller. The quality is always at the top, but they should try with some innovation and a bit more friendliness.

My wife and I decided to hit some Japanese restaurants for dinner while at Rome as we did not want to return home with 5 extra kilos, a couple would do nicely! We went a couple of times and by far the best of all the Japanese restaurants. We sat by the bar and saw the subhuman/women go at it... More

Whilst Hamasei would not rate 5 in japan it is still very very good japanese in Rome and japanese owned with courses prepared to the usual high japenese level of care/precision - really enjoyed and nice break from the predominant italian restaurants.

FAMILY was visiting and after 3 days of pastas, primi piatti e secondi piatti folks wanted something's little different. Hamasei did not disappoint. It's a little on the pricey side (for sushi/sashimi) but solid. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and the service was as it should be: courteous and on point. It was also nice to see Italians,... More

Hamasei is Roman institution. Their sushi/sashimis are very well prepared with excellent products. The owner even say the quality of the fish he buys every day is higher compared to the main fish market of Tokyo. Difficult to verify but I can tell you that I would give him the benefit of the doubt. We also ordered some tempuras and... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
