I haven't had Indian food this good since I lived in India. Amazing, rich flavours. We were here on New Year's Eve, arriving very late and the staff were very accomodating and friendly. The service was fast considering how busy they were and that we arrived around 10pm. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a break from Italian food!

Had heard about this place from a relative, so thought of eating there. It was closed for more than 2 days around Christmas. As my stay in Rome was more than 3 days. so we again went there when it was open and had Indian food there. Have to say, the food was worth the wait. The place is an... More

This is by far one of the worst indian restaurants i have visited. We ordered two very simple veggie dishes being paneer & daal makhani. Both were dissapointing, bland & cold as was the cold naan. Place is very small & we had to sit through the meal Listening to I believe the owners who were the wife, husband & son... More

We had a meal on our last night in Rome, the menu was extensive in its choice and authentic Indian food of high quality. The staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English, it is clearly favoured by regular locals which is always a good sign. The prices were reasonable and they were not phased by our choice of only... More

Our actual rating is 3.5, but this is not an option. If you do consider eating here, note that it is closed on Mondays. We liked the interior and the staff/level of service, and the food tasted quite good, but nothing more. We liked the taste of the curries, but is not too happy with chicken served on the bone,... We had dinner at Sitar this week. Our service was so accommodating, especially since we speak very poor Italian. The food was outstanding and we all agree that it has been one of the highlights of our week in Rome. All of the dishes we ordered were very good, we each had a meat and a vegetable as well as... I have never been to India and therefore my experience with Indian Food is from the US, Rome and Chile. I though that overall the food was bland, the portions were small and most of all, I was surprised at the mini-chicken legs in the chicken dishes. I have always received non-boneless chunks of chicken in my Chicken Curry, Chicken... More

Had to get something with a bit of spice so went to the local curry house. Was quiet so sat down straight away the lady in charge was very friendly and went through the menu. Food was tasty and portions were good, service was quick and attentive and the food was good value, worth a visit just to get away... More

Very disappointed with this restaurant....food was adequate but we left feeling hungry. To be fair the lady that took our order did say that the chicken dishes were cooked on the bone.....but there was hardly any meat to get off the bone. Decor is lovely and it looks a really nice little restaurant...staff were friendly and helpful...wine was nice.....there was... More

Awesome authentic Indian food that delights the palate. It is located close to most historical places. I would recommend Sitar to all who like Indian food as well as first timers!!!
