Meat. Chips. Meat. Wine. And oh yes, meat. Grilled to perfection. It is popular, and on Friday night we would have been sunk without a reservation. Professionally run and service level was high for the volume that was being handled. If you are not a...More

We went at the recommendation of a local and are glad we did. The waiter was attentive, and the service excellent. I had the slice beef with arugula with a side order of cannellini beans. My wife had the sirloin. Both were quite good.

This restaurant was recommended by a local and wish we never asked. Our waiter didn't speak English and was incredibly rude. When my wife tried to order to porcini mushrooms he said "finished" 3 times yelling at her. I went to ask a manager for...More

Went there last Friday for my mother’s birthday after we were let down by another Michelin-starred restaurant that had let us down (closed despite an email confirmation etc - a different story), which explained why we turned up at Dal Toscano without reservation on a...More

The restaurant is known for its huge Tuscan steaks. Our party of 8 enjoyed the evening dinner outside. Service was good. Reservations are recommended.

Very good meat, the veal obviously. And the antipasti. Even the local Chianti, but the prosecco as well (good taste, good price). But the atmosphere is a bit old, rusty, with old style waiters, even if polite. And the Fiorentina was a bit Roman, no...More

Veal all the way. Any way. Excellent food and attentive staff. Very good house wine and 2 different veal dishes and couldn't go wrong with either.

Lunch on Sunday. Booked in advance. Having visited this Restaurant for over forty years, when we arrived we were warned about the unexpected problem... two of the senior waiting staff were absent.... so.... " be kind to us ". In the old time our favorite...More

We’ve learned that if you are eating in Italy you must remember you’re a visitor and the hundredth they’ve seen today. Being polite and going with the flow will always get you better service. However, don’t be surprised if being American means you’re quickly judged....More

Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is
the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in
a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is
a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and
wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every
shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and
gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but
that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets,

Prices were average, but my Saltimbocca alla Romana left a lot to be desired. And, as a single diner, I was virtually ignored by the wait staff. Not recommended.

I am sorry to respond late also. Shorts for men and women is fine. I have never seen anyone dressed up at the restaurant.
