Came across this place by accident one Monday evening, whilst looking for another restaurant, and managed to snaffle the last table. Very enjoyable evening. Nicely subdued buzz about the place, but not noisy. Attractively old-fashioned decor with pleasantly subdued lighting. Price seemed fair for the quality of what we ate and drank. Probably the best meal we had in our... More

Well hidden at the end of a side street; inside had a great atmosphere- lovely lighting and tastefully decorated; mostly locals eating here; English translations on menu; house wine was really good; food was very good quality and authentic - we had pastas and soup. Really helpful, attentive service (although not all waiters understood English!); One of the best places... More

I am not a local, though I am Italian; will that count as a Master connoisseur of local delicacies? You will be the judge of this. I stumbled upon this rather authentic trattoria accidentally, in fact I was looking for a nearby place. What first caught my attention was the sign: truly old style (and here hey earned their first... More

We were staying nearby and saw the reviews of this restaurant and decided to try it out. When we arrived we greeted by friendly owner/manager, restaurant only had a few people dining but quickly filled up, mostly with Locals. The food and wine was well priced and arrived quickly. It was very tasty and portion size was good. The wine... More

I was directed here by my hotel, completely worth it. Great local food, fantastic pasta, great wine. I can't recommend it enough. A solo traveler/diner, I was seated inside at a two-seat table about an inch from a four-seater with a couple and their daughter. The seemed amused by the ignorant American near them, but they were also friendly.

Ate here on New years day when many others were shut. Lovely cozy local with great ambience and friendly service. The pasta was cooked to perfection but one of our meals was very salty which was a real shame. All in all though you could do much worse than this little trattoria, remember that nothing is free in Rome and... More

We had an awesome family meal here on our first night in Rome. Carbonara was amazing. Pleasant atmosphere with enough locals to ensure authenticity. Recommended.

My second visit to Trattoria Cadorna was as pleasant as the first one (in November 2014). The place is small, pretty local and it has that vibe which differs it from the tourist restaurants in Rome. It is actually a place where locals go and enjoy real Italian food. The pasta deserves a special attention as well the steaks. I... More

We wanted to go to another place found on tripadvisor, but it was completely empty, so we went here. That was a really good choice! At 19.30 it was almost empty, but all the tables were reserved and in 15 minutes it was completely full with locals, but still quiet enough to have a normal conversation. We were the only... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
