The place was empty when we arrived but full when we left. The service was very good and very professional. The food was mostly about the display than it was substance. Although the food was above average, it was very small portions. There seemed to...More

Monte Caruso is a traditional Italian restaurant hidden away down a small flight of steps. The seating is fairly intimate, so a good place for a romantic meal. We enjoyed a hearty Italian Vegetable Soup followed by Turkey Breast cooked in Brandy and slices of...More

This restaurant was close to our hotel and what a find! Family owned and run with amazing food. The soup, pastas, and the veal meatballs are amazing!

Very nice mood, the cousin was OK, but the profiterole was delicious! The price was very reasonable, 40 euros per person (with a bottle of wine). All in all, it was worth it.

I don't usually review restaurants, but I felt compelled to review Monte Caruso because it was the best meal we had in Italy. Fantastic food, top-knotch service. Next time we come to Rome we will be back.

Loved it all. Atmosphere, food and service. Best olive oil I've ever had. I wish I had discovered it before my last night in Rome.

Great food and great experience. Very pleasant restaurant which offers excellent food. Mama Rosa, Papa Domenico and their son Emanuele really take care of their guests and make your dinner something to remember. Thank you so much. Jolanta

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only
way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The
Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas
in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s
famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to
its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub,
Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot
vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
