This resto is located on the hearth Rome. It is there since the 1920s and represents the continuity of traditional roman cousine. The place is extremely well decorated with tradition leading the way and contemporary art (with some Mark Kostabi pieces) providing a great added value . The dishes reflects the roman popular tradition but are revisited without changing their... More

We were the first to arrive and warmly greeted and shown to some comfy chairs next to the fire. A few minutes later we were taken down a corridor and into a large cavern dining room, tables beautifully laid out, mood lighting and with walls decorated with bright modern art. Wonderful ambience! This was obviously a place that has pride... More

I love Rome, and this restaurant was definitely a plus in my trip!! I will go back next time for sure! The staff was very attentive to my needs, always checking that everything was ok. SUPER NICE!!! The food and wine were very good, and for a good value. Maybe expensive for Italy, but not compared to Paris prices. The location... More

It is one of the "traditional" restaurant of Rome, definitively worth a visit. The food is good from the local Roman cuisine (and neighborhood) a bit revisited. Among the appetizer, my suggestion goes for the "Gita fuori porta", a selection of local hams and cheese nicely prepared. Also, very good as main dish both the lamb plate as well as... More

This is the kind of restaurant you go once because you've heard of it, have the experience and don't go again. Was recommended by a friend and we gave it a shot. You must make a reservation and should not miss it. The ambience is really nice, with the paintings on the walls and seating. Waiters are good and I... More

Wow this was a disappointment. My sea bass was severely overcooked and under seasoned as was my husband's veal. The highlight of our meals was my appetizer which was artichoke and ricotta in a pastry shell. It was heaven on a plate. My husband ordered the appetizer that was called something like a taste of the Italian countryside and it... More

More than we expected. It's a bit too much. But we were surprised that it was such a nice place. Too expensive. The food was sometimes too rich tasting and sometimes too experimental ( the tiramisu is nothing like tiramisu, mostly green tea and pistachios)

Go here if you like the sort of atmosphere created by walls lined with photos of famous people, but if you want good food you can do much better. The prices are quite high. Service a little patronising. Thickest wine list I have seen so you will find something good to wash it down with.

One of the best restaurants in Rome where I have been. The ambiance is fantastic and the food is outstanding. The wine list is one of the best ever seen in Italy and the attention is great. The decoration with all the paintings on the wall is so refreshing. This is a must when you are in Rome!! Prices not... More

Although we haven't booked the table hostess who was very nice succeed to find a table for us to have brief dinner. The place is very popular, there is a lot of photo with celebrities in the hall. The food is not outstanding, but good. Service also was quite nice and fast. Good experience in general, but if you are... More

Description
Giving always attention to meet the changing course of the latest trends, the restaurant has the culinary agility to anchor the current fashion to the heritage of the rules and quality of the food products, maintaining the delicate equilibrium between discretion and popularity. In this way, we assure our guests to be present, without appearing. The original customs officer and the modern host, preserving the historic mission of the place, have been followed by a family known as connoisseurs of taste: the perfection of the proposed cuisine, offered in an ambiance enhanced by the beauty of the great artworks and the meticulous attention for each guest, so to guarantee an exclusive atmosphere combined with the warmth of a comforting familiarity. Our guest, no matter from which movie set arrives, or for how long hasn’t come, is always welcomed with a smile, a shake of hand, a delicious meal accompanied by an excellent wine and with the warmth of the art surrounding this fascinating angle of Rome. We know well that what the body nurtures is not foreign to the soul.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
