5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

Since we were last in Bologna about four years ago, a couple of cuisine-related things have happened. First, the saintly and wonderful Rick Stein induced hordes of the middle-class to visit the city as a result of his 2016 Long Weekend series. In this he asked, with a certain degree of mock-puzzled naivete I think, why Brits have ignored the... More

We visited this superb restaurant having seen it featured on Rick Stein's 'Long Weekends.' My wife and I loved it. The seafood dishes are fabulous. The portions are spot on. The wine is excellent and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the attention of the two owners who explained the dishes and intricacies of Italian wine to us. The restaurant decor... More

It was our last night of a short break in Bologna. We picked this restaurant for two reasons. It served cotoletta Bolognese and was advertised on the map given to us by the hotel. We reasoned they wouldn't advertise it if guests then complained. It was lucky we didn't go there on our first night or we wouldn't have tried... More

This was visited by Rick Stein for his TV series and I know why. Service fantastic, great atmosphere but above the food, fantastic seafood, and melt in your mouth pasta. You have to try the Sabayon Desert. Well worth taking the extra time to travel the backstreets to find this great restaurant

Absolutely outstanding! I Everything was exceptional across the board: food quality, presentation, service, ambience, and value. While they specialize in fish, I opted for the traditional Bolognese tasting menu, which was amazing. The food quality is exceptional and the service some of the best I have received in Italy; truly genuine and welcoming, yet professional and knowledgable. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was under 5 minutes walk from our hotel and only a short distance from the Piazza Maggiore. Ciacco specialises in fish, although other dishes are on the menu. We ate downstairs in a barrel-vaulted undercroft. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and spoke good English. The atmosphere was fairly formal but a large party of locals provided plenty... Thoroughly enjoyed the two meals we ate here. Imaginative food (wonderful home made bread) served by knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Outstanding local restaurant. We had the degustation menu. Dried meats to start, two types of pasta, pork tenderloin and two types of dessert together with recommeded Bolognese wine. Food was to die for and the owner and waitress made us so welcome. Can't rate highly enough
