Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Peaceful quiet street so choose an outside table on a nice night. The pastas all fresh of course with our tagliatelle outstanding. Insalate was average like many, why just iceberg lettuce is beyond understanding. Good wines at reasonable cost. Desserts extraordinarily good from fresh fragola...with mini cherries, to creme brulee and the star…choc cake with the best near butter whipped cream. Great service by Gianni and his crew.More

I did not expect to be given a menu in English language. After all this restaurant is not located in a tourist area of Bologna and is somewhat off the beaten path. Our server spoke English to us immediately- not expected. The food came out...unusually super fast - and warm not hot. You do not need a reservation though everyone who walked into this restaurant was asked if they had a reservation - most people didn’t and yet they were immediately seated. Nothing special here and do not waste your money.More

This is a tiny family run restaurant that was recommended to us by our hotel. They were booked out mid week so we booked and came back the second night . The special was sautéed mushrooms which were divine, beautifully cooked and lovely flavour. We...shared the "3 pasta" option and the pumpkin ravioli was exquisite (plus mushroom and a bolognase ragout pasta both of which were lovely). Desserts were ok (tiramisu and chocolate pudding) but pasta was definitely what the crowds were coming for .Great service, nice wines and good value .More

Simply outstanding. Our first night in Bologna and just an amazing experience from start to finish. We had the 3 course pasta tasting menu. Delicious. Immaculate service, genuine Italian food and a terrific place. Memorable in so many ways.

We arrived for Sunday lunch but were sent away, so we made reservations for that night. We liked it so much we came back again the following night. We had the specials on Sunday night; pumpkin ravioli and lasagna. We also had the chocolate cake...for dessert. The following night we had the tortellini in broth, and tortellini with butter and sage followed up with some tagliatelle. A fun place for an enjoyable evening.More

Loved this lovely neighbourhood restaurant. It was recommended by our hotel and was just what we wanted for our last meal in Italy. We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely leisurely lunch. Fantastic service mixed with beautiful food. My pumpkin ravioli was so delicate and...delicious - one of the best meals I had on holiday.More

One of the worst food experiences we have had in Bologna. The service is very quick and efficient, but the quality of the food is mediocre. The "brodo" of tortellini is not homemade but one of those I can buy from the supermarket. I wouldn't...recommend it, because the prices don't correspond to the quality.More

A friend recommended this restaurant. It's a bit out of the way but it was a lovely walk to/from Piazza Maggiore and it was well worth it! I had the melanzane parmigiana and it was the best I've ever tasted. The pasta was also lovely....They had a vegetarian main course ( grilled veg with scamorza) choice, which is most unusual as it's normally just meat or fish. We had a delicious valpolicella ripasso wine. The desserts are lovely but I was so full, I wish we'd just shared one between us as they are large. The waiting staff are fun and attentive. They made us feel very welcome. Don't expect fancy decor but you'll love the food.More

This is one of the most charming Osteria's we visited in Bologna. We got to the Osteria early for dinner as we weren't sure if reservations could be taken over the phone. The Osteria is located down a side street close to the centre of...Bologna. We sat down to an amazing dinner where meat eaters and vegetarians were well catered for. There are daily specials and we tried them all, courgette flower pancakes, lasange, pistachio mousse, which were all delicious. The service was superb and delivered with humour and efficiency. A menu in English is offered, and English is spoken by the owner and some of the servers.More

Excellent Italian cuisine. Absolutely enjoyed everything! The staff was friendly and overall the experience was really pleasant. The only downside is that being a small place it can feel a bit crowded. Nevertheless, it's a great place to go!

I had the best tortellini with ricotta butter and sage. I sat outside because it was quieter. Wine and tiramisu were really nice too! It is a cozy place away from the huddle and bustle of the city centre in Bologna.

All staff super friendly and helpful ! Take their recommendations - they're worth it. Went for dinner on our first night and they managed to find us a table for 3 with no reservation. All had different pastas and each was delicious... ended up having...3 courses and just wow. Exceptional food and absolute bargain! Would recommend the house white wine too. Only worry is trying to find somewhere as good to go to next!More

We fit in without a reservation before the dinner rush. Excellent pastas. One with red sauce and cheek and the other with ham ragu. Both excellent. Mixed salad was better than expected when looking at it. Wine was good despite that they brought one glass...of white when ordered red. Still tasty. Nice vibe in this place. Lots of locals. We were happy. Nice grappa too!More

What an excellent evening. We arrived and the place was full so we waited a bit for a table to open and it was well worth it. Given is was our first night in Italy we relied on the waiter to help us pick our...entrees. We had 2 pasta selection of tortellini and tagliatelle. Then we shared the bolognese cutlet and vegetables. Food was excellent. For desert we had a lovely crème with wild cherries on top. Atmosphere was jovial with everyone seemingly having a good time.More
