Very disappointing given the other reviews. We booked and were seated in the back, which we discovered is the main part of the restaurant and totally lacking in atmosphere. There were a number of very large groups of tourists there and consequently the service was frantic. The quality of the food was poor compared with other local restaurants we'd been... More

I love this restaurant. I've been multiple times and the food and service has been excellent on each one of them. I didn't see an English menu around, which is fine as I speak Italian, but that might be a problem for the non adventures non Italian speakers.

We visited here following a recommendation from our Italian host. We didn't make a reservation which resulted in us being put in a back room, well away from the hustle and bustle of the main restaurant. The staff, apart from our waiter, were not very friendly. The food was tasty but not the best food that I'd eaten on this... More

Don't go by appearances as you might not be impressed. But this traditional eatery will impress you with it's quality and range of meals on offer. Not forgetting the wine, some real stunners.

The trattoria was recommended to us by a barman in another place. And it was a great tip! Delicious food typical for Bologna la Grassa :) We had ragu alla bolognese and lasagne. The desserts were so tasty too! The only regreat: we couldn't come back the next day to try their stinco! It looked amazing on the plate of... More

Recommended by our hotel, this was a good local trattoria. No fancy decor or elaborate presentation, just good (though not great) local food. Gets very busy, and seems to be mostly locals - with no English spoken - so get practising your Italian!

Very busy, mostly local clientele, and no wonder: beautifully prepared delicious local specialties and very reasonable prices. The quality of ingredients and careful preparation is evident in every dish. Nice house red to accompany the beautiful pastas and meats. The starter of prosciutto, salami, fried bread, and burrata is outstanding!!! Butter and sage on angliotti. Stincko. All as good as... More

This restaurant was recommended to me by someone who lives in bologna and a great recommendation. For starters we shared the typical Crescentine (pan fried homemade bread) with salami and soft cheese. None of us had ever had this before and it was finished in record time. I had the Cotoletta alla Bolognese(Bologna Cutlet with Parmesan and Prosciutto) as a... More

Simple and unsophisticated but really nice food and friendly service. Great place for lunch. Wine in carafes. Very simple menu and great value set lunch. We really liked this place. Big local lunch crowd and lovely "Italian" atmosphere. Not fine dining but good simple and tasty food.

Went for lunch, food was simple and not very good, also served on small plates. This is my opinion, as my husband enjoyed his but said it was as though it was cooked at home. The owner is standing by watching over and takes your payment at the door. Found the waiters very abrupt but maybe as we didn't speak... More
