We were greeted by the owner who kept telling us in broken English that he’d order the foods that “Mama just make.” We had a huge Antipasto Rustichello: bruschetta, salad with shaved parmesan, cheese tarts, roasted peppers and tomatoes, and a bowl of rustic bread. We had the house red and a small carafe of white. Mama brought us three... More

Recommended by a local and filled with locals. Why? The pasta, of course. Fresh, amazing, and nowhere better. Claudia was an exceptionally pleasant advisor and server. Our only regret was we didn't have another night to return.

This is a rustic family owned place just outside city walls. We were only 2 Americans, and had the pleasure of enjoying the dog and 2 year old from the family who sat behind us. No menu ( menu posted outside if you want to check first) - very sociable owner tells you what he thinks you should eat. Pastas... More

Just outside the city gates, this trattoria is extremely popular with the locals. The staff guide you through the choices and are happy for you to share a primo. The house wine is very drinkable and the food at least as good as many more expensive restaurants.

Chaotic and noisy in a fun way, you should probably book in advance to be assured of a seat as it seems to be very popular with the locals. The food is simple but very tasty and the fresh pasta was good.

Enjoying this lovey town of Ravenna and had the best meal of our recent trip! This trattoria has been here for 30 years and still maintains a high level of excellence both in presentation , quality and value. The pastas were homemade -- the meats excellent including our first taste of cows cheek which was served in a red sauce... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our near-bye B&B owner. We ate dinner there both nights we were in Ravenna. The first night the place was mobbed: a large party of German tourists had reserved one of the rooms there, and it appeared all the other rooms were full as well. The staff was running, but still courteous. The... More

This restaurant is just outside the old city and is frequented by locals. The interesting thing about this restaurant is there is no paper menu or wine list which I must admit is a bit off putting as I like to read through to determine what courses to have! Having said that you just go with what the owner has... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of the B&B we were staying in. We were so satisfied that we went back 2 days running for lunch. The "cappelletti" are just the best, brought to the table in the pan used to toss them in the sauce. The lasagne on the second day was a meal in itself and... More

Packed with locals! Pasta with sausage and peas was exceptional, as was the pasta with with zucchini and speck. Brought to the table on the same pan in which it was cooked. Recommended by our hotel. Very authentic. Would have gone a second time but wanted to try out some of the other Ravenna recommendations (although this was one of... More
