Our hotel recommended this place for lunch. Cosy, warm, a small menu with great pasta and mostly steaks for seconda. Great wine selection and an impressive collection of whiskies and other spirits (next time).

This restaurant is what me and my wife always look when visiting Italian cities: friendly staff, small venues and incredibly good food, in line with the traditions (we are Italian from Venice) and history of our Italian culinary heritage. The pasta dishes are absolutely tasty,...rich, made of fresh ingredients and served in abundant quantity. The meat we had was fabulous: we had one tagliata (Argentinian Angus beef), and we were proposed a choice of side dishes to accompany the meet; we also had a marvelous cube roll of angus beef (I remember it being Uruguayan) cooked medium-rare as requested, it was tender, tasty and juicy like it’s almost impossible to find in other places. Their wines are the best way to enrich their perfect dishes. Thank you for an unforgettable dinner!More

Although most restaurants in Trieste are delicious and family-owned affairs, this small restaurant is special. Been there several times, and it is always delicious. It is small - about 12 tables, located a few steps off the Via Cavana. Offers wonderful daily special menu of...delicious pastas, lasagnas, soups. And also a wonderful variety of seconds - meats, veggie dishes, etc. There is a nice selection of wine, the prices are reasonable, the ambiance is wonderful and cozy, the owners are very nice and accommodating.More

I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant. It was also recomended from my hotel around the corner. They actally brought me over to the restaurant in case I needed a reservation for a different time. They made it clear that I was there because...the hotel suggested it. Then the problems began. There is no menu. A young lady tells us what is available. She clearly was uncomfortable with English. She asked if I wanted pasta. I said of course. She listed pasta dishes. I choose pasta with artichokes. She was relieved. The pasta was fine. I have no idea what other possibilities there were. Then, she clearly avoided my table when I finished the pasta. She did not want to tackle the second course. Finally, I brought her back. My choice was no fish, steak from Argentina, or chicken. I told her that I understood she was uncomfortable with English. So order a chicken dish that I would enjoy. A few minutes latter, I was served boring chicken. Plain, sauteed, no extras chicken. I asked about vegtables. She brought some olive oil. No vegtables. I complained as I left but I don't think it made a difference. Do not go here expecting a special dinner. If you speak English, they will treat you as I was treated. We a problem. Give us us some food and get us out the door. This was a major disappointment.More

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to review this restaurant as we had a horrible end to our evening. However as the food was so incredible it seems unfair not to give this gorgeous little restaurant a 5 star review. And I also wanted to...let others know our experience so the same doesn’t happen to them. Basically the food is unreal, the flavours of all the starters were just incredible. Stick to the pasta dishes, the steak dishes were lovely but the starters were second to none. We had amazing starters, great mains, and then nothing! We didn’t want to be rude and leave our table and ask for dessert menus or more drinks, we caught the eye of the waitress a few times but were ignored. We kept saying, give her another 5 mins....big mistake. In the end I went up to her to tell her that we were appalled at the service and would like the bill. She apologised and said it was like a family and friends experience, if we had wanted more drinks or dessert then we should have asked. I wish we had. I left with very mixed feelings as our evening had ended badly however the food was just wow! I have been to Italy a few times but this food was the best I have ever eaten. And that’s why I’m giving this restaurant 5 stars and an honest review. You will need to book, I emailed earlier in the day, as the restaurant is small and yes, probably is full of friends and family. If I am ever lucky enough to be in Trieste again I will definitely return and this time ask for the dessert menu and more drinks.More

This wonderful small restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Our lunch there was perfect. All the food was deliciously prepared by the chef owner and his wonderful sister. Welcoming and friendly. Great wine too!

Recommended by my hotel I went quickly as lunch was ending. The dining room sat about 25 had the AC noticeably on this July afternoon. I joined the 7 locals there. No menus. No problem. The food and house wine were great and the service...and prices were equally pleasantly surprising. So satisfying.More
