We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and upon recommendation from Simone at San Giorgio where we were staying,I reserved a table before we Evan left for the trip. They were prompt. In contacting me and when we arrived I stopped in and picked out our table. The menu had excellent choice.I wanted seafood but my husband did not eat... More

Manarola, a fantastic sleepy fishing town. Fishing boats scattered around, makes one think that all those quaint little family restaurants buy off the local fisherman or market. Not true! Il Porticciolo serves frozen and farmed seafood. I ordered the grilled octopus, it tasted old and was rubbery. I also ordered the 'local fish mixed carpaccio', that was one type of... More

After burning up all those calories hiking up and down the magical Cinque Terre trails, treat yourself to some incredible seafood at this charming little restaurant. Excellent service, beautiful presentations and warm atmosphere. Try the mixed grilled fish.

Italian chefs have spoiled visiting tourists to the extent that food quality is not the only differentiator between a good restaurant and good place to eat and be treated well. At Porticciolo we ordered a pesto spaghetti and pesto lasagne. The lasagne was too salty and we told the waiter. He explained to us why lasagne is likely to be... More

We loved the fresh seafood and Caprese salads. The wait staff is knowledgeable, relaxed and friendly. Giovanni is charming and attentive (ask for one of his special desserts). He took good care of us, and his recommendations were spot on. We went to Il Porticciolo 3 out of the 4 nights we were there. It was a mistake not to... More

My hubby and I dropped by here for dinner without reservations, and they accommodated us very quickly. The servers were efficient, but very warm and easy going. The place was packed with both tourists and Italians alike. We tried the lobster ravioli and pasta with mussels, and both were great. For our secondis, we got the fritto misto, which was... More

This is our first time visiting Italy and have had dinner at many cities and restaurants. In our opinion this was just as good as an expensive meal in Venice. The service was unreal, the waiter was very friendly and funny. Moreover the food and wine was second to none. Highly recommended by this young Canadian couple!!
